We’ve been working nonstop this summer to prepare for the upcoming dapp releases. Here’s our progress report:
PEERPLAYS EIGHT
The first installment of Peerplays Eight enters beta-testing next week, which means everyone will soon have access to the world’s first real-time interactive on-chain game (Rock, Paper, Scissors or “RPS”) from a stylish GUI written entirely in the Unity3D framework.
This downloadable desktop application will provide you with a platform to register and manage your RPS tournaments, view detailed tournament information, as well as (of course!) wager and play in games and tournaments against your peers. Wagering with PPY tokens will be supported at launch, with BTC wagering to be added Q4 2017.
An independent party has created and developed Peerplays Eight under PBSA advisement. Right now we anticipate the public release of this app in approximately 4 weeks, however we remain committed to recommending only such release versions of software that meet the highest standards of provably-fair gaming.
PUBLIC TEST NET
Also in the month of August, PBSA will publish a bulletin with guidelines and recommendations for Peerplays witnesses towards the establishment of a public test network that mirrors the Peerplays blockchain codebase. For security purposes, we will recommend that Peerplays witnesses support a space for applications created by independent parties (such as PBSA) to be thoroughly tested before deciding whether to fork any new software code into the live blockchain.
BOOKIE
The Peerplays decentralized sports betting exchange application BOOKIE continues to progress according to schedule. Thus far, this progress has been concentrated in two key areas. First, the blockchain code has been significantly augmented to support a full-featured betting exchange. The second area has been the development of the downloadable app, which you'll soon be able to use for betting digital currencies on sporting events from anywhere in the world.
During the month of July, we began working on the third and final key component to the Bookie dapp - an extensive suite of python-based tools to help witnesses automate key functions of the dapp relating to accurate data sourcing and on-chain market creation, management and settlement. PBSA will publish these tools several weeks before Bookie is launched, so that active Peerplays witnesses have plenty of time to learn & deploy them on a public test network before going “live”.
Q4 2017 remains our estimated target for the publication of all relevant software code for Bookie. We are really happy with how Bookie is coming together and we look forward to sharing more news with you as soon as possible!
PEERPLAYS CORE
The Peerplays blockchain was launched in June with many built-in features which are not yet supported in the “Peerplays Core” wallet interface. Some of these features include the ability to create threshold-based account permissions (multi-sig), the ability to make blind transfers (aka. “stealth”), and the DEX (decentralized asset exchange) for trading assets paired with the PPY token.
We are pleased to announce that PBSA has just hired two new full-time programmers at our Debert, Nova Scotia location (the bunker) who will be tasked with the ongoing development of the Peerplays Core wallet application and the on-chain referral program. In the coming months, PBSA will publish new updates for Peerplays Core that bridge the gap between this existing back-end functionality and the user-friendly wallet GUI.
