Even our second day in New York started on foot. We were heading to Staten Island Ferry to go on a ferry which will take us to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
On the way there some guys tried to sell us boat tickets which should be cheaper and better than the official cruises. That all sounded very suspicious so pay attention where you buy your tickets.
From the boat you will have a wonderful view at the skyline of New York. In the ferry ticket was also an audio guide included. It was interesting to hear about the history of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

After the boat tour there was some more walking through the city. We visited Ground Zero, the Wall Street and suddenly stood in the middle of a film shooting of the serial Elementary. It was fun to see the film crew and actors doing their job in the middle of the street.

Via the Manhattan Bridge we left Manhattan towards Brooklyn and walked back on the Brooklyn Bridge. Standing on the Manhattan Bridge you will have a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Furthermore there are much less people walking around, because the bridge itself isn’t that nice.

In one of our travel guides we read about the best ice cream in Brooklyn so we stopped at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, which is directly under the Brooklyn Bridge and really makes some delicious ice cream.

With the Metro we had a ride to the Broadway to see this place by night.

Once again our day ended with some fast food. This time in a White Castle, were we heard so much about it in the Harold and Kumar movie :D

Before we were leaving New York towards Philadelphia, stay tuned for some video content of New York. Don’t miss that ;)
