I often take photos daily not only for the joy of the image but for colour stories.
Today I was actually inspried by @silviabeneforti and her post about her day as it made me realize I should share some photo posts of my day. I think we all like to see what one another might be inspired by each day.
For me, today, it's been the colours of my flowers and planters. I really had fun with this one, as I collect blue and white pots and this one deserved to live on the terrace this Summer.
I love blue with apricots, pinks and yellows, so I really had fun with the colours in this one.
I found this yellow Gallardia this year and snatched it up straight away.
Usually you find them in burgany and red oranges so this more yellow variety looks a treat with my blue sea holly. I love yellows and blues/purples together in the garden.
My two borders here are primarily yellows and blues so I was also excited to find this yellow poppy.
It really pops with the punch of blue/purple of the hardy geranium, or cranesbill.
You can see the bees and hoverflies love it as well. They often fill the poppies.
I love to mix perrenials and annuals in pots, because when the perrenials outgrow their pot or I want a new look they can go and live permanently in the ground. This Summer I found this amazing yucca.
It's a golden variegated sword yucca. These love the hot dry heat of our Summer terrace. And when I saw this colour variety of petunias, I just went for it.
I love sublte combinations like my yellow and blues, but there is something to the bold colours of summer annuals that makes one feel like a kid in a sweet shop or really an artist at her paint pots!
And I'll close today's photos and colour inspiration with the bold pinks of my first flower lily, the stargazer.
It was lovingly planted in a pot on my window sill this Winter and so it had a head start and is flowering before my others.
It's pretty easy to be inspired by colour combinations in the garden and I have to say I love the making of these pot combinations as much as playing with paints, both digital and real, as well as the joy of mixing colours for printmaking. # There is a lot of art in the garden.
I hope you all have a lovely day. Perhaps I might post a second time today. I have been toying with the idea of sharing a photo post separate from an art post. I know some think it not a good idea to post too often, so I usually try to keep it to one, but I like the idea of just sharing photos of the day. I know I like to see them.
What do you think? Should we post more than once a day? Keep it to one? Or it doesn't matter either way?
