Awhile back I shared about one of my absolute favorite chickens I have, who we playfully called Judd Weiss because of the sideburns. Since thing we've found out Judd is actually a Janet, although she seems to think the name Judd is cooler because she won't respond to Janet. She lays eggs for us every day and is actually a total sweetheart.

Now she's gone broody, which is why she has that determined face on. She's willing to sit on anything right now and considering she's laying unfertile eggs I've been removing those from under her. Noticing she seemed determined to sit on an egg I brought her one I thought might for sure be fertilized and we're giving her a shot. And she seems serious, she hasn't moved in two days. I've put the food in front of her and now she's got a little water dish too. She actually nuzzled my hand when I brought that, she was likely super thirsty.

She lets me remove the eggs because she realizes that she's gonna get to have one. She looked honestly relieved when I brought her another egg after taking the ones she was sitting on. Visibly so and I'm happy for that. Hopefully she makes it to hatching!

Sizzle is Judd's roommate, and they're best friends. They usually roost together at night but not since Judd has been broody, she literally doesn't move.
