Photo Series #63: Wild Horses | Would you try to ride them?

Hello dear readers! How are you? A story with wild horses on the Patagonian fields.

I remember this photography like it was yesterday. On that day I had woken up early in the morning in El Chaltén, Argentina, where I left the campsite to look for a waterfall nearby.

The day was surprisingly beautiful and windy, as usual in Patagonia, so I gathered my small 'point and shoot' camera and started my morning walk through the fields along the river; this is one of the best things in Patagonia, you can basically walk anywhere you want without being shot by the land owner.

At some point I spotted those majestic creatures, possibly wild. I immediately thought:

      - How cool if I could ride one of those.

So, moving slowly and making sounds to attract them I was getting closer and closer. They were apprehensive and nervous though! I just wanted to gain their trust. They looked me in the eyes and with a neigh and some kicks I understood - Time to give up.

With their 'go away' message clearly sent I continued my walk to the waterfall, but I kept the pictures to remember that moment.
