Hands Holding Drinks - Portland, Oregon (Original Photography by Deneb Catalan)

With Steemfest right around the corner, it is wise to be prepared for a lot of socializing.

Below are images of hands holding beverages, including some fun thoughts and suggestions on networking.
Enjoy!

When engaging in social activities, between rants or humorous anecdotes, a pinky under the base of the glass for stability will keep the glass secured from flying across the room. Holding a glass with one hand, indicates that you are a social butterfly. If you talk with your hands, like me, place the drink down in front of you with enough distance to minimize smashing into the glass.

Similar to the image above; here we see this hand with the pinky secured behind the stem of the glass. This is recommended for one-on-one social engagements. It shows a little class and a touch of sensitivity. Never fidget with your fingers, it will make you look nervous.

Two hands holding a glass indicates you are social but would rather not commit to any type of relationship other than networking or making friends. This works for all sexes and great for people who are strictly monogamous or shy. If you want someone to keep their distance, hold your drink closer to you.

A proper way to hold a cold beer is to keep it close, elbows resting on your side and forearm at a comfortable angle. Three fingers and your thumb is really all you need, held slightly firm with the tips of the fingers to avoid heat from the hands. Notice the pinky is slightly loosened for tilt balance and flow.

Final thoughts...

In social gatherings, you want to always hold your glass with your left hand. The reason for this is because you need your right hand to be a warm enough for shaking hands and pull out business cards. Making sure your body language send the right message is as simple as the way one holds an object.

I really hope to see you all at Steemfest. Planning on photographing the event for behind the scenes, red carpet and/or Step-n-Repeat for admission and offering portraits for STEEM! I'm gonna do my best to gather funds for the event. Wish me luck! :)
