"A Steed of Royal Color" ~ by Duncan Cary Palmer

"If I paint a wild horse, you might not see the horse... but surely you will see the wildness!"
- Pablo Picasso -

This 50 word challenge prompt is "bank."

As I despise the obscene, deceitful, and intrusive nature of the fiscal kind, I chose a word containing "bank" that is part of a wild and free tradition.

Once again, my 50 words are best read out loud.

The Dun Mustang

by Duncan Cary Palmer

Grazing among wild stallions, drinking at the cascade's edge.
Galloping across the plain, a flowing mane adorns his head.

Who is this unfettered creature?
How so free to race and roam?
Why no bit?
What, yet unbridled?
Where the grove he deigns call home?

Claybank, steed of royal color dun.

P.S. If you have an "in" with anybody at Steemit, Inc. - Would you please ask them to get rid of these damn, extremely annoying "off-website" arrow/boxes? The have, overnight, made Steemit ugly. There are much better solutions.
