Mind Drill
Torrent contained
Furiously flowing but
Spilling nowhere
Building upon itself like snow before the avalanche
Tempered violence
Silenced potential
The drill sits idle
Useless unless used
Resting upon an empty medium
Lamenting its existence
Yearning to scream
Damned to be damned
Drill in hand
Linking copper and zinc
Piercing the plane
Torrent unleashed
Trickle gives way to flooding rain
A blood river staining the nothingness
Bringing turmoil and havoc into the stale vacuum
Pages fill
Spilled from within
The mined from the mind
Drilled with the pen

What's up Steemians! This poem is a little obscure in its meaning, so if you're scratching your head, don't feel bad. I'm not sure why, but I like to pieces like this. Often, I like to have a clear revelation within the poem itself, but this time I decided to let things roll. For me, the mind drill is a pen. It's an outlet from which abstract thought becomes concrete. The reference to copper and zinc has to do with how batteries work. They operate on a difference of potential which causes electrons to flow. So too is a pen to thought. Thanks for reading. Please let me know your thoughts below.
**PS - In case you're wondering, the image is an enlarged photo of the tip of a ball point pen. I thought it looked like the world, which is a fitting metaphor for the point of the poem.
