When you have such an interesting question to answer, your brain begins to find the possible arguments for any idea you might have. Looking over the arguments, you think first about one, then about another, discreetly losing yourself in a variety of hypotheses and possible answers.
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Leonardo da Vinci
And as usual, the answer always lies on the surface.. Today I invite you to join me in my journey on waves of consciousness to simple, but yet important truth.
First things first
I want to express my great gratitude to @michellecarter for proposing the question for this week, @eco-alex for accepting the idea and launching it in the community @ecotrain. Read more on Eco-train question of the week
Separate personal thanks to @hopehuggs for being my guide to this wonderful community through her wonderful post.
So, let's go and let our @ecotrain carry us further.
Always Live Consciously 1 - make choices based on your own truth
Life is an ocean. We are captains, who set the course for their ship. The problem is that most of the captains do not even think about the importance of choosing a course. In most cases, they follow instructions given to them by parents, educational institutions, and the society.
Always live a life that's true to yourself. Not the life others expect you to live.
(c) Steve Wentworth
We seem to go along, not really realizing what is happening to us. There are many blessings in our life, but we barely see them. We more concentrated on the lack of money, power, love, etc. and blindly following the crowd that says "We need more”. With this, we are directing our ship into the abyss of passions that seems to have no end.
We do not appreciate the life lessons, created to teach us and often find ourselves into Samsara*, where the same problems reign again and again with us blind to see the way out.
*I use the word “Samsara” to indicate of the circle of birth and death as it exists in Vedic tradition.
Sometimes all you need is just open your eyes, look at the horizon and finally see the direction that your Heart is leading you.
Oh, yes, Heart. Do you think where we, who had forgotten how to use such a faithful compass, always pointing the right direction, can find this knowledge again? It's very simple - start to listen to yourself and make decisions based on a vague sensations, intuition, which whispers to you rather than following the logically polished, ideal instrument called the human brain.
Always Live Consciously 2 - Understanding your place in the Universe
And when you change the course of your ship, making your Heart the compass, you begin to see that everything in the world is interconnected. The illusion of a man, being "the crown of creation" will fall, reviling the understanding us as a small part of a much broader picture of the Universe.
This path is far from what you have always been taught since the time you were a kid and your brain can resist it for a while. But you should trust your Heart and in time new boundless horizons of the Universe will be revealed to you.
You will understand the simple truth that the peoples of ancient civilizations and Eastern philosophies always told us - We are one!
Always Live Consciously 3 - Share the best of you and that you have
When you live consciously, you understand what sharing with others is an art that you can perfect all your life. In my article The Art of sharing, I gave examples of people who donated money, time and even their own blood in order that other people live happily and have a chance at all to be born. They do not ask anything in return. What can be a possible reason for them and many others to do such things? I want to believe that these people are guided by the boundless generosity of the Soul what doesn’t divide people by the color of the skin, or town they live or considering them the citizens of different cities. I believe it more like giving for the sake of giving and enjoying that you did something good. If you think of it, there is the real scenario when everyone wins.
There is a short story to illustrate it.
In one city every autumn a competition took place. The scope was to choose among all gardeners the gardener, who grew the largest pumpkin. From year to year, this claim was won by the same person. One of the people decided to find out what is the secret of the gardener, who always wins. His answer was very surprising.
Every autumn, when my pumpkin ripens, I collect the best seeds and pass around all the inhabitants of my town, handing them out the best I can. I use the same seeds myself. You understand, when the pumpkin will bloom, it will be pollinated by bees that have flown in from neighboring areas. Therefore, I always take care that my neighbors have the best pumpkins. And everything else is a matter of Nature.
So let make a choice to plant the best seeds around us!!
Always Live Consciously 4 - Share wisdom
It's common for us to share how we spent our day or photos on Twitter and IG, but we rare share wisdom. Wisdom is, in my opinion, a generalized experience, conclusions that a person, a community, a state or society as a whole make.
You can live a lifetime as a hermit in a cave, having reached great heights in your inner development, but in my opinion, a life real awareness begins when you begin to share wisdom, become the Ambassador of Knowledge in the World.
Steemit presents to us a huge platform for the implementation of this principle and community accounts like @ecotrainor @gardenofeden as well as countless individual accounts are able in my opinion to significantly expand the number of conscious people on our Planet.
Always Live Consciously 5 - Live in the moment
In the modern world, our life is so fast and diverse that we often forget that we generally live our life with each second that passes. There are so many things In our “to do list”, that we do not see anything around us apart of it. When we have a short break from these routine and go on vacations, many of us slap cameras right and left, again missing what lLIFE is the moment that happens here and now, at this very moment. This short second can pass so quickly and remain unnoticed but the thing is - you can’t live it again. Can you?
Dalai Lama was once asked: 'What does surprise you the most?" His answer was the following:
“Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
What would I like to say in conclusion? I think the main thing is already said, but as always I would like to ask you a question:
And if so, as always, I urge you to think about one single small thing that you can do TODAY?
