How To Behave On Steemit
The first thing you should read is the section on etiquette. I mention this first because it is so important when joining a new community that you have a good reputation. This is very is very important in this social context where people get an impression of you only by how you conduct yourself online. You may unknowingly be hurting yourself if you're unaware of the guidelines we follow here.
Here are a few key things listed in that section of the site.
DO NOT
- DON'T POST AND RUN
- DON'T OVER-POST
- DON'T POST NUDITY OR GRAPHIC IMAGERY UNLESS YOU TAG IT WITH NSFW (Not Safe For Work)
- DON'T BE A FAKE, PLAGIARISE OR PASS OFF OTHERS' WORK AS YOUR OWN
- DON'T ENGAGE IN TAG SPAMMING
- DON'T RE-STEEM EVERYTHING YOU SEE
- DON'T POST UNRELATED LINKS IN COMMENTS
- DON'T DIRECTLY ASK FOR VOTES
- DON'T EXPECT RECIPROCAL VOTES
- DON'T BRIBE PEOPLE FOR VOTES, RE-STEEMS, FOLLOWS OR ASK DIRECTLY FOR MONEY
- DON'T USE THE WALLET TO GET ATTENTION
- DON'T EVER USE @ALL IN THE CHAT (or @everyone on Discord)
- DON'T DIRECT MESSAGE PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW IN THE CHAT
- DON'T FLAG CONTENT JUST BECAUSE YOU DISAGREE OR DON'T LIKE IT
- DON'T BE A STALKER OR A TROLL (That's just creepy)
- KEEP THE ADOLESCENT REMARKS TO YOURSELF
- DON'T BE A DRAMA QUEEN
- DON'T GO ON WITCH-HUNTS
- DON'T MAKE IT PERSONAL/DON'T MAKE ARGUMENTATIVE POSTS
- DON'T CRITIQUE PEOPLE'S WORK UNLESS THEY HAVE ASKED YOU TO

- DO ADMIT WHEN YOU ARE WRONG /DO APOLOGISE
- DO FORGIVE PEOPLE
- DO TAKE A STEP BACK
- DO ANSWER YOUR COMMENTS

- DO ALWAYS COMMENT WHEN YOU FLAG A POST AND GO BACK AND CHECK IT (I have never flagged a post)
- DO PROVIDE VERIFICATION
- DO ALWAYS READ THE RULES FOR THE CHAT CHANNEL YOU ARE POSTING IN credit
