Press4Steem is a new WordPress plugin for linking WordPress websites with the Steem blockchain.
The plugin is the first product of a new collaborative partnership between @Pennsif and the @SteemWOW witness development team.
With WordPress now powering almost half of the world's websites we see Press4Steem as an ideal way to promote Steem to the wider world and give site owners and bloggers a simple way to monetise their content.

WordPress is by far the most popular Content Management System powering 43% of all websites globally, and 65% of all CMS sites...
People use WordPress as it is a well developed, easy to use, and largely free system for building high quality websites.
Steem is a well developed crypto blogging platform with built-in content monetisation.
What would happen if we could combine the two to give site owners and content producers a way to continue with the ease of using WordPress and have a way to monetise their content?
Press4Steem can make this happen.
It is a standard plugin that can readily be added to any WordPress site.
Site owners will of course need a Steem account to use the plugin but we are exploring ways to make that much easier as part of the Press4Steem offering.
@Pennsif and @SteemWOW believe Press4Steem provides an excellent way to attract new high quality content producers to the Steem platform.
As Press4Steem develops it will also offer the potential for site owners to reward comments of their customers, followers and fans and so attract them to Steem as well.
By providing an easy bridge with the world's largest website platform we see Press4Steem as having massive potential for extending the reach, appeal and visibility of Steem.

The Press4Steem Backstory
When I was first looking to set up a Steem witness I came across the excellent Zero to Witness series from @rexthetech of Steemwow...
@rexthetech and I both being in the UK made it easy for us to work together on setting up my witness nodes.
After that worked out very well we began talking about possible ideas for Steem development projects.
As a long time WordPress user, when I discovered that @rexthetech and his SteemWOW partner @freelance.monkey both have high level WordPress development skills, I mentioned the idea of linking WordPress sites with Steem that I had previously experienced through the now defunct SteemPress plugin.
The rest, as they say, is history...
@rexthetech took a look at what could still be accessed of the old SteemPress plugin, but decided that as WordPress had moved on significantly since then, it would be much better to start from scratch.
Press4Steem has been built from the ground up to work with the latest WordPress technology.

Press4Steem is just on Day One.
We now have a working version of Press4Steem.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be testing and refining the plugin, with a view to releasing the first MVP for public testing before the end of November.
Beyond that we have all sorts of plans and ideas for growing Press4Steem into a major asset for the Steem platform.
