In today's interview, we get to know the beloved Artist and Visual Story Teller @opheliafu!

@opheliafu has been a major contributor since very early on and is one of the most prolific and successful artists on Steemit!

I have been following her for over a year and every day she has a new spirited and colorful work of art to share! I particularly like her flower water colors!

@opheliafu is a true artist through and through. She lives and breathes the artistic spirit! So much gratitude for all the beauty, creativity, and love she has shared with us so far; she is a truly genuine loving soul. May it only be just the beginning of her and our success here on Steemit!

Ophelia will be sharing a very intriguing session with us at SteemFest where she will be inviting people into a dystopian world of strange flying machines and optical surveillance as she explores further some of the themes in recent Steemit community collaborations. Get ready for eyeball implants and STEEMpunk drones!

So get ready for that at SteemFest and get to know her better through this New Creamy & Delicious Interview Series!

  • Where is your homebase?
I’m based in the United Kingdom.
  • When did you get into crypto?
A couple of years ago, since then I have attended crypto meet ups and events, and started to get more involved with crypto themed art.
  • How did you hear about Steemit?
My husband @cryptofunk told me about Steemit, he joined in May 2016. I joined Steemit in July 2016. I loved the vibe of the community and we have since hosted a couple of Steemit meet-ups in Birmingham, UK.
  • What can Steemit do for the world?
Building positive connections across the world through mutual interests.
  • How has Steemit changed your life?
It has allowed me to collaborate with artists, musicians and writers globally, I love that about Steemit. The community is amazing!
  • Why should people go to Steemfest 2?
Because the energy of the event is amazing with so much positivity from people! It is fantastic mixing pot of talent and skills in which you will meet some incredible people.
  • What are you contributing to Steemfest 2?
I’m bringing with me my enthusiasm for art and creativity, and I’m hoping to get as many people involved with the art activities and workshops as possible. I’ll be presenting an art workshop at the weekend, so come along it will be fun!
  • What excites you the most about Steemfest 2?
I made some amazing connections at the first SteemFest, many I’ve kept in contact with over this past year. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of those people again but also to meet new folks too.
  • What is the most revolutionary aspect of Steemit?
For me it is the real life projects that are developing from the community connections that are made on Steemit.
  • Did you go to Steemfest 1? If so, what was your favorite part?
I did go to SteemFest 1, yes. What was my favourite part? Gosh, that is too hard to answer! When I arrived at the SteemFest hotel on the Friday evening I walked straight through the doors and into my buddy @everlove who was taking photographs of @saramiller with her leg in the air, I knew at this point it was going to be an amazing weekend, and I was right!

@opheliafu in the reflection on the glass, in her first glimpse of @everlove & @saramiller!

What a beautiful photo of loving souls sharing together! How nice that she has photos of this, which are PERFECT for this interview!

  • What does art mean to you?
Art for me is a form of expression, I never made a conscious choice to be an artist I have always just been one. The process of art for me takes on the same role that I imagine our dreams do, as it is suggested that dreaming is an important process for our health and well-being. When I draw and paint I'm processing the information around me or exploring concepts, sometimes I like it to appear as if I'm doing this in a nonsensical way, but then what fun is life without a bit of whimsy?
  • Do you have a common muse or source of inspiration?
I spend a lot of time walking through woods and drawing trees, but then I'm also a little obsessed with concrete structures! So two very opposite sources of inspiration!
  • Do you have a piece of art that most exemplifies your "dream" or "perfect existence"?
It is hard for me to pick a favourite piece of work, I have some pieces of my artwork that are very dear to me and I would never choose to let go of. I couldn't pinpoint a piece of work that reflects my dream or perfect existence, but I think a piece that would convey a sense of tranquility for me would be a large scale oil painting I have made depicting water.

That's a great interview - thanks for sharing with all of us, @opheliafu!
