Location Scouting For The Steem Film

Today we were looking for a location to shoot the Steem film and we have found a good one: the RAW area in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

RAW stands for Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk - one of those long nasty German words that drive non German speakers crazy. It means that this area was formerly used by the German state railway (the Reichsbahn as it was called in the German Reich and even in communist East Germany) to repair their wagons.

Today the huge area is full of clubs, concert venues and cafés - a kind of amusement park for Berlin's nighthawks. There is also an indoor skate park, a mountain climbing wall and lots of space for graffity artists. So it is similar to Steemit, just in the analogue world.

There are plenty of charming places where we plan to film our protagonists while they play around with all kinds of social media.

Which is what they will do for a part of the film - the challenge is to shoot this in a visually interesting way. There is nothing more boring than people sitting in front of computers.

RAW also offers lots of space to move around. Many of the walls are covered with cool street art. The sausage in the picture below says: "Eat more Nazis". We would not recommend that.

We are looking forward to our shooting next week. Now we are working on the script in close cooperation with Ned. Thank you very much for all your valuable contributions to it! Of course you can still send us your ideas in the comments!
