The power of Ambassadors

This is where the strength in this community lies if you ask me.

How did I end up here?

In 2014 a friend of mine came to me and told me about a coin. Well, it was not realy a coin, it was more of a code, which was worth almost 1000 USD. And you where able to buy, but also earn them by mining. I remember being sceptical but interested, as I am always interested in ways to make money, especially if there is a slight chance this will turn out to be lifechanging, as it back then already had been for the people who did not use their Bitcoins to buy a pizza.. Or like someone else I know, who threw out a laptop on which he had been mining 30 Bitcoins back when the price was only 1 dollar!

I started buying some Bitcoins, and we did build our own mining rack with 4(!!) cards and we started mining. It was fun, but we were not able to get out a lot of coins, as we were way to late, so we switched to mining Dogecoin. The point I am making here, if my friend did not introduce me to Bitcoin, I would probably have not heard about it that early(but still way to late is you ask me).

A friend made me do this

So that friend introduced me to cryptocurrencies. He made me get in to Bitcoin, and interested in altcoins. Thanks for that! Because of the changing market I had to keep me up to date on marketinformation, I subscribed to some newsletters.

Steemit

How did I get on Steemit? In one of his newsletters @dollarvigilante was talking about a platform that was build on a blockchain, and were people are able to reward eachother on their posts and blogs. Some kind of social media, but likes are upvotes and these upvotes give you money in return. So I started reading about Steemit and could not find any reason why I should not register. I even have to say that i was realy enthousiastic about the opportunities that Steemit can offer you, as long as you are serious and being yourself.

Getting the hang of it

When I signed up the first thing I wanted to do is get a post online. Guess I was wrong there, I got some upvotes but did not have any idea about what i was doing and why. I made a post, I introduced myself, but what would I talk about? So I started reading posts of others, and besides learning what Steemit realy is about, I did also get a lot of usefull information about Cryptocurrencies. These posts helped me in understanding how other people look at cryptocurrencies and it is good to invest in one, and keep out of the other.

Why is Steemit the future?

When I read about the difference between Steem, Steempower and SBD one quote of Frank Underwood in the first episode of House of cards came to mind:

Such a waste of talent. He chose money over power. In this town, a mistake nearly everyone makes. Money is the Mc-mansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart after 10 years. Power is the old stone building that stands for centuries. I cannot respect someone who doesn't see the difference.

This is the main reason why I am this interested in Steemit. Steemit gives you the opportunity to create friends and followers and you are able, if you have the good amount of Steempower, to influance the communty by upvoting people you think are interesting. You can follow the people you want to follow, you can resteem the items you like, and it creates Steem. In the end this will all lead back to Steempower and Dollars.

So a recap; What is the power of ambassadors?

Making a long story short, how did i end up on Steemit? Someone told me about a thing he was realy enthousiastic about; Bitcoins. He, as an ambassador of Bitcoin, got me investing in Bitcoin. After that, the ambassador of Steem and Steemit, who realy enthusiastically told me that Steemit is the future, got me subscribing to Steemit and now here I am! What I am trying to say is that if the people did not tell me about Bitcoin, did not tell me about Steemit, I think I would never have been here today. And spreading the word is I think the best way to do it.

I recently read a post of @kingscrown about Huobi, and how Huobi is rating coins on several points, one of them is marketing. You can read the post here if you are interested. As you can see marketing here is a 2,44 out of 10, and i think we can upgrade that point together, why not? I have seen @jerrybanfield creating vlogs and using that money to invest in advertisement on Facebook in order to get more people interested in Steem and Steemit, which I think is a great way to build an even better and stronger community. Check here to upvote. Steemians like this are our ambassadors, and we can use more of them to make Steemit even a bigger succes than it already is today. We are able to build up the community, and maybe even create a snowball effect which will make Steemit grow!!
