Steemit with its almost 600.000 registered users, proudly welcomes daily more than 4000 new members .
With more and more people coming every day, it is important that the new members are well guided, find information easily and be able to create their new content!
Welcome to steemit!
Please make sure to take some time reading the below useful guides and pay extra attention to what you should not do during your stay on the platform!
Important Reads:
I understand it is not so polite to start with Don’ts, but there are many users that do not have this information. A good start in everything is very important, so please pay extra attention to the Don’ts and then make sure you research and/or ask about anything you might have a query about!
I wish you all the best and of course, feel free to post any questions below. Even if I do not know the answer, I will be happy to research with you.
1. Do not over post!
As per @steemitblog source here
Posting Reward Rate Limiting
Each account can post up to 4 top-level posts per day before a new algorithm will kick in. The new algorithm will start taxing any rewards you earn on additional posts in the same day. Here is a chart that shows how your posting rewards will fall in percentage terms for each additional consecutive post.
2. Do not copy-paste information from internet!
If you copy paste or google translate and then post on steemit, you will be caught and your posts will be flagged. If you post someone’s content you should give them credit for it.
Remember that books may be translated, but the author remains the same!
3. Do not use imagery that you do not have the right to!
It is extremely easy to use images from internet, but make sure that the photos give the right to be used. A few websites to find good quality imagery are pexels.com, unsplash.com, pixabay.com etc
4. Do not use tags that do not represent your content!
You are allowed to use maximum 5 tags, from which the first one represents your main category. If you misuse tags, there are specially appointed accounts such as @steemitcleaners who will inform or flag you.
5. Do not spam other posts with comments such as “follow me”!
This will first of all annoy people and secondly might cause in your comments being flagged.
6. Do not post irrelevant links in other people's comments!
You might think that it is important that everyone visits and reads your recent post, but if it is not related to the original content it is considered link spamming and may also result into a flagged comment.
