Design A Flag For Steem Nation Contest! Accompanied With Some Sweet Dance Moves.šŸ˜‚

There has been much debate on if Steemit is considered a Nation. I would wholeheartedly say YES! I was going to write a post about why it is a nation for this competition, but @bluerthangreen already beat me to it.

So let me ask you this: Shouldn't every nation have a flag?

CONTEST

The goal is simple! Design a Flag for #SteemNation!

PROCESS

Three judges will be selected with one being from the minnow, dolphin, and whale category to score submissions based on Creativity, Symbolism, Artistic Merit, and Execution. The Design Guidelines will be used at their discretion.

Designs that fail to comply with the contest rules (listed below) will be eliminated.

Three designs will be declared the finalist and presented to the Steemit Community the first week of September for the community to vote on and declare the winner. At the end of the public voting period(7 days), the flag design with the most votes will be presented to the community and all finalists will be presented with their SBD awards. The winning designer will have the opportunity to oversee the production of the flag with their design and presented their flag upon production.

The winning designer will be awarded a 2 1/2' X 4' custom flag.

Finalists will be awarded at least $20 SBD each.

ARTISTā€™S STATEMENT

The nature of flag design relies on simplicity and symbolism. Therefore, while not required, an artistā€™s statement of 150 words or less is recommended to accompany each design.

For example, an artistā€™s statement for Old Glory might include:

ā€œThe 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states, and the 13 stripes represent the 13 colonies that declared independence from Great Britain. White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness, and valor, and Blue signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice.ā€
