Bandwidth Errors

If you’re just starting out on SteemIt, you don’t have a lot of Steem Power. This often results in bandwidth issues. The lower your SP, the less available bandwidth you have, and the bigger the chance that at one point you won’t be able to upvote, post or comment.

You can find the following paragraph about bandwidth in the SteemIt Bluepaper

Under normal circumstances, a user should be out of the ‘danger zone’ if he has 50SP or more...

Delegations

This made me think... What if I could help some users to get out of this ‘danger zone’ by delegating some of my Steem Power to them?

Sounds good, right?!

Now all I had to do was find a way to select the Steemians I would be delegating my bandwidth to.

No need to explain that I only want to spend my SP on users that are willing to progress on SteemIt. The delegation is meant to help the delegees to overcome the bandwidth issues and gather enough SP to stand on their own two feet after the delegation period has ended.

And I think I found a way to find the most determined newcomers...

The Curation And Engagement Leagues

Every Sunday, database wizard @abh12345 publishes his ‘Curation And Delegation Leagues’-post, which gives participants an insight into how they’re performing.

Basically, the Curation League lists the best curators, while the engagement league is ... you guessed it: all about engagement.

You can find out more in last week’s edition of The Curation And Delegation Leagues.

If you’re interested in enrolling, just check the new contest post tomorrow (March 25th) and leave a comment, telling @abh12345 you want to join.

UPDATE:
This weeks post is up and the game is on! You can still join. Leave your name at the bottom and then visit @abh12345’s post for this week and tell him you want in. Here’s the link: @abh12345/2k1qx4-the-curation-and-engagement-leagues-sponsored-by-carlgnash-and-paulag

However, if you’re interested in getting a delegation, read on before you head over there...

Engagement Is King

If you want to grow your account here on SteemIt, you need an audience. And the only way you can grow an audience, is by engaging yourself. Get to know people. Become a part if this awesome community.

Now, how do I do that?’, I can hear you ask. There is only one way: comment, comment, and comment some more. Then, reply to all replies you get. I’m talking about (tens of) thousands of characters here.

I never said you would get your delegation for doing nothing, did I?!

Take a look at the top of last week’s Engagement League.

Don’t worry, I don’t expect you to top those numbers. I only want to give you an idea of what we’re doing in the league. And what is perfectly possible.

As you can see, I ended up in 4th place with ‘only’ 306 comments, of which 114 were comments outside of my own blog. I’m talking about 85987 characters of pure fun, ladies and gentlemen. I also gave 429 upvotes to other people, and not a single one to myself (I like my followers to earn curation rewards).

Sometimes I’m so busy commenting and replying, I can’t even find the time to write a post - lol.

All this to make you realize that SteemIt is not just another blogging platform; if you want to progress, you need to engage.

Which brings me to the challenge...

The Challenge

I will be supporting 3 people by delegating 50SP for 2 months. This delegated SP should allow you to post, upvote and comment without running out of bandwidth. It will give you a chance to grow your account without having to worry.

In order to make the most out of the delegated SP, I recommend you to try to make at least one post a day. I’m the first to acknowledge that life gets in the way sometimes, so this is not a requirement to keep your delegation.

Let me tell you what is...

Requirements to get and keep the delegation:

  • Have 50SP or less

  • Reply in the comments section below, telling me that you want in

  • Enter @abh12345’s Engagement League (March 25th - March 31st) and try to get up as high on the list as you can

  • Stay engaged.

Simple as that.

So, if you’re serious about your SteemIt adventure, this is your time to shine.

Leave your name below, enter @abh12345’s league and spend the next week posting and commenting like a boss.

When the new league results will be posted next Sunday, I will check which 3 contestants have performed best*, and will send them a delegation of 50SP for 8 weeks.

To be eligible to receive the delegation, it should be obvious that you have made a real effort engaging yourself. I reserve the right to not delegate if I don't think any contestant is up for it.
