STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE #30 - Winners & New Theme Announement - All Welcome For SBD Prizes!

Another great round, this time with guest judge @kotturinn's theme "Take Me To Brunch... In Your Country", which inspired many wonderful entries.  Thanks for that @kotturinn!  On days when you don't have to rush, taking your time over a lazy brunch is soooooo good for the soul I think, either in the quiet of your own company or shared with those you love.  If, like me, you enjoy exercise in the morning before any meals, brunch is the perfect choice as it gives you time to clean up and relax a while before having to prepare food - I do not like feeling hurried!!!

We have some truly well-deserved winners here, though as with all our previous judges @kotturinn too had a difficult time deciding which recipes she liked best!  We also had an unexpected bonus prize for the 'most quirky entry' from @razvanelulmarin - so much gratitude for that!!!  Thanks to everyone for sharing the results of your hard work and passions with us... I know I'm not the only one who feels genuinely delighted seeing each one as its posted.  After all - food is health and health is life!

Please note: I will be away Fri-Sun, so if you need me for anything then tough!!!  I'm celebrating my 8th wedding anniversary with the most wonderful man ever to exist, and we're treating ourselves to a lovely weekend :-)

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS FROM @KOTTURINN:

I would like to start with thanking each and every person that devoted  their time and took part in SCC #29, I was overwhelmed by all of the  beautifully crafted entries this week, I did not expect that!

THANK YOU: @karenmckersie, @haydeart, @jurgan, @lil4a, @amy-goodrich, @helene, @knittybynature, @shady,  @emilymichelle, @rouketas and @katebobkova. All of you guys are awesome  and it was a pleasure browsing through your recipes, it sounds cheesy  but I felt like a kid in a candy store. It was NOT easy having to only  pick 4 people, but I have to follow the rules of the challenge,  regardless of the outcome, you are all winners to me.

I  tried my very best to be as unbiased and objective as possible. One  really does not know how hard it is to be a judge until they experience  it, perhaps it would be a good idea to let every willing participant the  opportunity to try it on themselves.

When choosing the winners, I  decided that in order to be an impartial judge, I would pick those that I  felt adhered the closest to the predetermined criteria.

I'd also like to share my sincere THANKS to @smooth and @sirwinchester for their continuous sponsorship of this challenge, the Steemians who regularly or occasionally submit entries, and to everyone who upvotes and supports the entries.  I'm well aware there would be no challenge without you all!!!

For those of you who have never entered this challenge before - it's very easy, just see below for this week's theme and criteria for entries.  Every week we have a different guest judge and  different theme, so if you fancy some culinary excitement then look no further!  You don't have to be a great cook - all we ask is you try to be creative with your recipes and take beautiful photos of the finished dish as unfortunately we can't taste the entries so you must help us do this with our imaginations!  Original recipes are encouraged, but you may use someone else's recipe as long as you credit the original source.

The guest judge this week is my New Zealand pal @biglipsmama who of course I've never met in real life, but whenever we chat I get a lovely feeling of 'warmth'!  She's the only person I've ever heard use the Maori name 'Aotearoa' for New Zealand, meaning  'land of the long white cloud'.  Isn't that the loveliest name?!  Like me she's very into health, real food, organic produce, DIY quality instead of commercial crap, the general well-being of people and the earth...  She vies to keep the Evil Temptress Sugar out of her children's lunchboxes and so does a lot of home baking for them.  There's nothing compares to a mother's love!

She originally chose 'Neenish Tarts' as the theme, which you may not have heard of as they are most popular in Australia and New Zealand.  They are large or small tarts made with a pastry base, a creamy filling, and dried icing on top in two colours, usually pink and brown or pink and white.  But we decided to broaden the theme so you can create your own unique tarts, made any way you like!  Sweet or savoury, either is fine.  We prepare to be dazzled by whatever kind of tart you present!
