Information on the Development of Updates

Update 1 - ''All Tags'' Search

  • GitHub Issue 115 & Issue 116
  • A feature that allows the Tags list page to show all available tags using paginator and allow User to sort them by name, replies, payouts

This will allow Steemians to search less popular tags which aren't display on the Homepage, now we are restricted to only Top Tags, making finding related Post more difficult however this update will change this

Update 2 - Related Posts

  • GitHub Issue 66
  • A feature which will recommend other Posts based on personal interests. Steemit will ty to show Content based on Posts that you may find interesting

This is yet to be decided, perhaps they will get a special algorithm to determine a User Interests based on Statistical data accumulated from User engagement and activity. A good way to retain Steemians attention as they get to see related interesting posts

Update 3 - Contributor Biography or Formally known as User Profiles

  • GitHub Issue 118
  • Allow Steemians to customize their profile by adding a Dislplay Picture, a Biography Line, Custom URL and perhaps more personalized options

This would give Users a place to share information about themselves with the community. Notice how ''introduceyourself'' posts get little attention after the first few weeks and is usually forgotten at beginning of your Blog. Soon we will be to include more personal information to be showcase on our Steemit Blog

Update 4 - Translation Support

  • GitHub Issue 233
  • This allows the site to present the site UI in multiple languages, depending on the language setting of the browser accessing.

Generally Speaking Steemit interface is only available in English, there are plenty of Posts circulating in different languages however having a Platform that supports different languages will make it easier for Users all around the World to interact with Steemit's Platform

Update 5 - Display Resteem Count

  • GitHub Issue 356
  • Enchancement to show Resteem count for a particular post

Let's see how many people have Reblogged your Post by showing it's Resteem Count

Update 6 - User Authentication or formally known as Verification Page

  • GitHub Issue 355
  • To add a verification page, so that User can prove their identity through several Methods of Authentication

There is has been concern over the real Authenticity of a Steemit Account, adding more verification procedures will allow Users to prove that they are the real deal. Imagine that individuals can verify one another to prove that they are real-life individuals, something every top Steemit Account must have. Check out this Post for a better idea

Update 7 - Tip Button

  • GitHub Issue 401
  • Implementing a new Button that allows all Steemians to reward one another by paying someone for their Content

Find a great Post and like to show your appreciation? You can do so by donating in a more formal way than sending Rewards directly to someone Wallet.

Update 8 - 100% SP Payout Display

  • GitHub Issue 261
  • Distinguish posts which are Powering up their Rewards

Those who truly believe in Steemit are interested to Power up since it's a long term investment, thus this Update show appreciation to those who dedicate their Rewards to be reinvested back into platform by highlighting Posts which have a 100% STEEM POWER payout

Update 9 - Block Unwanted Accounts

  • GitHub Issue 239
  • Implementing a Block Button on Steemit to prevent abusive users from flagging the content of users they don't like. It wouldn't remove already obtained flags as people would abuse that as well, but it would prevent someone that is deliberately flagging all content a user writes.

Something that many Steemit Users will make use of in order to reduce the abuse of flagging. At this moment many user engage in some sort of ''flagging war''(Individuals flagging each other), this means that when you create Enemies on Steemit it will end up costing you money. There has been so much frustration regarding this Issue and many user feel as if they have a victim of unfair flagging, this will hopefully reduce this problem by offering more privacy and protection.

Update 10- Offical FAQ

  • GitHub Issue 372
  • Introduce an Offical Section of Frequently asked Questions and answers about Steemit

Developers offer more support by providing more information regarding Steemit, a great way to acquaint new users with the rules and guidelines. Since many beginners have so many questions about Steemit, they may seek help by finding the answers to general question
