@steemitph's been doing analysis on country specific tags as contribution to Utopian, one observation is that the user-base in each of the country tags analyzed to-date is concentrated in bigger cities. In the Philippines for example, the bulk of the user-base are from Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao. Those are the big cities in the three main islands; Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
In support of @steemph's vision "Building Communities | Enriching Lives", @steemph.manila will go on a meet up caravan with these objectives:
- Start or improve engagement between existing Steemians located outside of Metro Manila
- Provide educational materials to improve existing Steemians' experience in the platform with the help of @steemnest
- Encourage Steemit promotion among existing Steemians by requiring them to bring a non-Steemian friend to the meet ups
- Explore community related events in each location to improve visibility for Steemit, and support @steemph's vision
Bulacan Meet Up
This will all start with a Bulacan Meet Up on February 17, 2018. You can read about that in this post and a few updates here. We aim to fund these meet ups and not collect fees from the participants with rewards from @steemph.manila, @steemnest, @steemitph, and @dandalion. Our @steemph family also expressed support for what we aim to do. We aim to do one meet up every 15 days between February 17, 2018 till June, 15 2018. Here is a tentative schedule of the meet ups:
- February 17, 2018 (Saturday) - Bulacan
- March 3, 2018 (Saturday) - Pampanga
- March 17, 2018 (Saturday) - Tarlac
- March 31, 2018 (Saturday) - Zambales
- April 14, 2018 (Saturday) - Davao
- May 5, 2018 (Saturday) - Baguio
- May 25, 2018 (Friday) - Ilocos
- May 27, 2018 (Sunday) - Pangasinan
- June 9, 2018 (Saturday) - Nueva Ecija
We Need Your Help
If you are a Steemian in the above mentioned locations, we ask only that you help us in organizing the events. Here are the ways you can help us:
- A proposal for a venue to hold the event. The place should have enough room for about 30 participants or more, should have an area where we can use a projector and speakers, and is okay to serve snacks for the participants.
- Encourage Steemians in the area to participate in the meet ups.
- List down topics that you wish us to cover during the meet ups.
