Time for a Silver Unboxing post
I wish this was full of silver, its twice as big as it needs to be. Im thinking, i bet this fucker is full of peanuts that get everywhere.
.
Its been almost 2 months from my last hit but my stackitis has got the better of me, i was looking to save a little more money but silver spot took a drive and im a weak man. i had to place an order. Since then my fatigue has gone and no blood in my poop, life is good.
Yep, knew it. Fucking peanuts! What do you guys do with these? keep and reuse and bin them?
That big huge box for this here. The tubes are emtpy btw, i like to have a stock of brit tubes.
That's it all opened up and dumped lovingly onto my desk. I was happy to see the lunars and koala's came in the OMP. I always like it when that happens and i keep it as it is.
First up is the 2018 butt ugly Perth mint Koala. I really like the koala series so when i saw this i was surprised at the shitness of its design. I will still loyal and buy 5 like i do every year. These come with caps that fit into panda trays. I can get 3 years worth into 1 tray and they look pretty sweet. 2018 is my 4th year of stacking so i am one a new tray this year :)
Next up is the 1/2oz Perth mint lunar. Again, its not the best design for me. There does not seem to be much detail and it sorta looks like a blur. I have the 2oz in this and it's not much better even with it being bigger. As dogs are my favourite animal and pet, i was looking forward to this. The Uk lunar dog is growing on me which i didnt really like when i first bought them. Anyways, i get 50 of these each year and these are numbers 11-20 ticked off the list. I get 10 every order until i hit 50 and they normally arrive in OMP which makes them easy to store away.
Now this one was a surprise for me. I knew nothing about these coins as i have not been on thesilverforum much latey. I was like i gotta get 5 and hoped they arrived in caps same as the 25th Ann brits from last year did. They did arrive in caps and the border is pretty neat. The text is pretty cool and i like this coin alot. When i complete my date runs in a few months, this will deffo be a contender for a roll, they are not that expensive and i like them.
This year the Panda design is spot on. I really like the close up big face, different from most other years but in a good way. I get 15 of these each year in 3 batches 5 to fill a tray. I liked them better when they were 1oz instead of 30gram. For me they dont feel like real coins anymore. They feel like private mint coins and not government issued. Im not stupid and no that they are but they are more of a novelty buy for me. I still love the designs and know they keep premium so i will continue to stack these bad boy panda's
Some more Britannia's, x5 2018's. I thought they were 2017's, i even doubled checked my order on goldsilver and i ordered 2018's. So there you go, i will most likely now have to buy x5 2017's next order. They are what they are and the design styas the some every year with a different background design every couple of years. They are prone to get milkspots and I get 1 tube of these every year because.........just, that's why. I dont no why, because im British i guess i feel i have to buy some UK stuff. lol Can you relate?
Last up is the 2017 Star Wars bullion coin form the Niue mint. I bought the 2018 ones with my last order and got 1 each for me and my son. He liked it so i thought i would get the first one while its still cheap and start a series with him. I got one as well to join in. They are a nice change from animals and a damn sight cheaper than the marvel series.
Here's the reason the box was so big. I have spoke before about when Royal mint monster boxes are in stock, i grab one as they sell quickly. Well, they were in stock and i grabbed one. I have no need for it at all. I have recently moved half my stack volume, yep i said that, stack volume into aluminium cases for extra safety and cause they look bad assed and now have 2 spare boxes. That could keep my sorted for 2 years.
The coins and tubes were inside the monster box and i found this foam padding at the bottom. Its pretty thick and i had to use a knife to get it out. It fits so perfectly it makes a vacuum and i will put it the bottom of my loose caps box. When its inside, the lid will not close when tubes are inside but not really a downside, more of me being a moan and looking for faults. It was free and its useful, BONUS foam
