Steemvoter Week In Review for Apr. 16 - 21

week in review.jpg

Today we take a break from guild vote nominations to bring you the second edition of the Steemvoter Week In Review newsletter. This is an opportunity to highlight winning SV Guild picks of the week. Now that post payouts happen at the end of a 7-day window, we feel it's fair to give our winners one more chance at getting some recognition before their payout periods close. These are truly wonderful diamonds in the rough that you won't want to miss!

In addition, we'll share any updates that the owners of Steemvoter care to pass along plus a Tip of the Week for getting the most out of the Steemvoter service. Without further ado, we present... drum roll please...

10 Of Rachmaninoff's Compositions in Honor of His Birthday by @cmp2020

Music is one of @cmp2020's passions, and that shines through loud & clear in this post, a tribute to the composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. It begins with a short biography of Rachmaninoff, and then goes on to introduce a selection of his compositions with some great commentary to go with it. If you're into classical music, or just looking to immerse yourself in a bit of sublime elegance, you won't want to miss this post. Thanks for educating us about a great musician @cmp2020! We all could use a little more music in our lives.

Monday Morning Writing Motivation by @caweyant

It is encouraging to see new Steemians joining our community, Curtis Weyant ( @caweyant ) joined just last month in March and has a background in writing, "putting pen to paper" since the age of eight years old and graduated magna cum laude with dual B.A. degrees in English Literature and Humanities as per his website bio. In his latest post he writes about ... well, writing! In an interesting twist @caweyant writes about one of his inspirations, Benjamin De Casseres. Hope you enjoy this quick read!

A friend for Luna the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog by @katdvine

Using the tag #wolfdogs , @katdvine has been chronicling life with her Czechoslovakian wolfdog. This post is fairly representative of the series. Her vivid photos are a treat for any animal lover, and it's also fun to learn about a breed of dog that makes quite an unusual pet. We bet Luna the wolfdog's life is about to get quite exciting with the introduction of her new friend in this post!

hammer.jpg Steemvoter Service Update

The website migration so far is going fairly well, we have performed some dry runs and are tweaking things in the backend to prepare for moving the front-end across to our own server, we have setup a dedicated IP address for use with a proper "pay-for" Comodo SSL certificate instead of the free SSL certificate type we used to use. Comodo SSL's cost a fair sum but are well worth it in terms of SEO and user protection, free is not always free, there are indirect costs and inefficiencies when opting for free services, there is the odd exception otherwise, but mostly "you get what you pay for".

lightbulb.jpg Tip of the Week - Sorting Rules by Column Headers

DId you know that you can sort your rules by column headers, just click the header until you see the up or down triangle and it will sort in ascending or descending order respectively, the below screenshot will give you the basic idea, showing rules sorted by author, but you can sort by any of the other headers as well by clicking on them.

And that's it for this edition of the Steemvoter Week In Review. We wish all of you a great week ahead!
