Today we take a break from guild vote nominations to bring you the first edition of the Steemvoter Week In Review newsletter. This is an opportunity to highlight winning SV Guild picks from the previous week. Now that post payouts happen at the end of a 7-day window, we feel it's fair to give our winners one more chance at getting some recognition before their payout periods close. These are truly wonderful diamonds in the rough that you won't want to miss!
In addition, we'll share any updates that the owners of Steemvoter care to pass along plus a Tip of the Week for getting the most out of the Steemvoter service. Without further ado, we present... drum roll please...
Last week's guild vote winners
The Health Of A Consumer - A Short Explanation by @deepapoudel
Author @deepapoudel is relatively new to Steemit, she is 19 years old and from Nepal, as indicated by her intro post. Despite being new she has posted a fair amount of content since she joined, with this latest blog post being about consumerism and the deterioration of health due to low quality processed foods being consumed in today's economy. We wish @deepapudel all the best in her journey on Steemit.
Thats how they built the PRISON of our MINDS ... and we are transmiting them from generation to generation! Free your mind and think clearly :) by @zkalemiss
This great post is a philosophical reflection on how our formative years shape and limit us into a certain way of thinking to fit the needs of a conformist society. Although it begins with a dark tone, it ends with an uplifting message of hope that brightened our day. And it even works in some Greek music! For this thought provoking, substance filled piece of originality @zkalemiss has earned himself the guild vote. Steem on @zkalemiss and keep pushing against the boundaries of convention!
Surfing The Time Wave by @creatr
@creatr has put together a fantastic, thought provoking post, aptly categorized under the #philosophy tab. The entire post has a beautiful flow and exhibits many best practices set out by the Steemit community, such as correct use or tags, centered images, image references, headings, blockquotes, horizontal rules and other advanced formatting. We can see this is a proper writer who has been on Steemit since August 2016 and has formed quite a following of over 400 people. Well done @creatr, good to see your perseverance in our community.
My little corner between kitchen and living room a half year later [EN] | Mój mały kącik pomiędzy kuchnią i pokojem pół roku później [PL] by @kambrysia
This great post from @kambrysia shows the steps involved in an artistic home decorating project, turning an underutilized bit of kitchen space into a masterpiece. It's also notable for being a bilingual post, with English on the left and Polish on the right. We admire the creativity on display here! Thanks for sharing your talent with the community @kambrysia.
Artists inspire: Eugene Delacroix - my stories about artists of the past, vol.10. Biography, paintings, stories:) by @inber
@inber is a freelance concept artist and illustrator, having joined Steem in December 2016, be sure to check out her intro post, in this latest post she talks about her favourite artist, Eugene Delacroix and a few others, showing some great examples of their works. Good job!
Steemvoter Service Update
We don't have much to update you on this week. A lot of behind-the-scenes work is happening as the ownership transition continues, which mainly involves moving the web site from the previous site owner to new servers under the joint control of @thecryptodrive and @cryptomancer. This effort is likely to be ongoing for quite some time and will benefit Steemvoter users by strengthening site security & introducing a more robust backup system to protect your voting rules from loss in the event of unforeseen catastrophic hardware failures.
As we move into summer and complete the ownership transition, we will be gradually switching our focus back to the development of new user-oriented features. More details will be forthcoming at the appropriate time.
Tip of the Week - fixing posting key errors
When the Steem network upgraded around the beginning of this month, we noticed that posting keys were invalidated for some of our users. Only a few people were affected by this, but if you're one of them you need to take action to update your posting key within Steemvoter. You should click on the "LOGS" button from the main screen of Steemvoter and check to see if your voting rules are working OK. If you see a red X it means your posting key has stopped working:
Also, if your account is showing an "Error" status, it means you did not enter your posting key correctly and need to try it again:
So how do I update my posting key?
It's pretty simple. Click on the green "UPDATE KEY" button and paste in your posting key, then click "SAVE NEW POSTING KEY". Your account will go into a pending state. It typically takes 20-30 minutes for the system to process the update, and then you should be good to go!
Note: you must use your private posting key. Be sure to copy & paste the key to ensure accuracy. From your Steemit wallet screen, click on Permissions -> Posting -> Show private key. That's the one you should use. It should start with the number "5".
DO NOT use your active, owner, or memo keys! Steemvoter only requires the private posting key:
Double click on the exposed key and hit Ctrl+C to copy it. Then you can hit Ctrl+V to paste it into the Steemvoter "update key" box:
What if updating my posting key doesn't work?
If you are still having trouble after trying the above steps, please contact @thecryptodrive or @cryptomancer in the steemvoter.com channel on steemit.chat and we will help you troubleshoot further.
And that's it for this edition of the Steemvoter Week In Review. We wish all of you a great week ahead, and a very happy Easter to everyone celebrating this weekend!
