After our visit to Versailles during the day, we decided to explore the smaller streets close to our hotel in Le Marais the evening for dinner. We crossed the Seine river and admired the back of the Notre-Dame Cathedral at sunset. Not many people do themselves the favour to check it out from the back... do it!
Entering the area in the 5th and the 6th arrondissements of Paris you are hit by the lively atmosphere of the Latin Quarter. The Latin Quarter is known for its student life and home of various higher education establishments such as: École Normale Supérieure, Panthéon-Assas University, the École des Mines de Paris, the Schola Cantorum, and the Jussieu university campus (got this from Wikipedia). The name for the area actually comes from the Latin language widely spoken in Universities during the Middle Ages in Europe.
We found a nice table on the street, got some dodgy take aways and soaked in the awesome atmosphere!
Tell me what you think and stay tuned for more!
