The whole idea started when I wanted to celebrate my first 100SP and 500 followers. I didn't know it will be a continuous weekly-ish donation. I thought it was one donation for celebration, end of the story.
What kept me going was the kind encouragement of my friends, some of them told me it was inspiring, some of them were older than me in steemit and didn't donate before, but they got reminded of how easy it is to donate through steemit.
What I'm trying to do here is not just donating, I'm trying to promote the charity and humanitarian projects that I know, to make it even easier to find them and support them.
You don't have to donate half your wallet, sometimes less than one SBD counts.
There are places in the world where, even with the low actual price of STEEM and SBD, 1SBD is a daily income of a marrried man responsible of a whole family.
Do not hesitate. Sometimes with one click, one donation, that won't affect you much, you can change someone's life.

Now we start promoting other projects and how to danate to them by sending SBD/STEEM or by upvoting foundraising posts.
We have started a support group for families who need help with protecting themselves against CPS/Social Services and other government agencies who are so quick to split families up and place the children in foster care/care homes all in the name of 'Child Protection'.

@SchoolForSDG4 is first Steemit crowdfunded charity school which is using the digital innovation to real impact in a slum area of Bangladesh

"School For SDG4 is a charity school founded by Mohammed Abdul Aziz on 20 April, 2016. The school was established to facilitate local impoverished children in slum area at Gashitula Sylhet, Bangladesh to ensure that at least a fraction of the children had the opportunity to acquire quality education. To date, the school have 60 children receiving free education who would otherwise be child laborers. As it was a personal initiative by Aziz, he strives to show these students that education is a way out of poverty and eradicate cyclical poverty.
The founder of the school started crowdfunding on steemit in June, 2017 to raise operating expenses of the school. The school has been fully funded by steemit community since September 2017. School For SDG4 shares regular educational activities of the school and raise fund for school's weekly fruits program, monthly lunch program and other educational expenses."

Tazewell ARC is a 501c3 animal rescue in Southwest Virginia. Our goal is to save as many dogs as we can from the high kill climate of Deep Appalachia, and to fight for their right to live free of pain, sickness, fear, hunger, thirst, and cruelty. We focus on transport over adoption and have rescue partners in New England states who, together with our tireless volunteers on the ground in Virginia, work to save hundreds of dogs every year. We place a strong emphasis on spay and neuter and believe it is the solution not only to pet overpopulation, but the disregard for life that goes along with it. We’re striving to provide low-cost spay/neuter options for our community in hopes of reducing stray populations and municipal shelter intake.
