Happy Sunday Steemians!
Spring has come & then been taken under by winter once more. We had snow yesterday morning and the temps are down again! What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?
Wow! We’ve been busy here @mountainjewel and have taken a respite from @the-hearth (basically because of hosting guests at our homestead) and didn’t curate this week!
Therefore, we’re going to try something different this week for our curation report & focus on 1 Steemian who we see repeatedly producing great earth-centered content, engaging with others’ posts, replying to comments and spreading her vote far & wide!
We first encountered this Steemian searching the #homesteading tag. The post I found first was an amazingly photographed portrait of her kitchen! I was blown away and have followed @walkerland since that day!
She posts fantastic how-to articles, thought pieces about her dreams & symbols, writes posts about homesteading life and more. She’s one of the most consistent of us on here within this niche and for this we want to highlight her!!
Go @Walkerland!
If you’re not already following her, we invite you to pop yourself on over to her site and press follow. Here are some articles you can still vote on highlighted from her last week.
10 Gardening Posts to Inspire You
A garden is a magical place. Its a place of healing, wellness and inspiration. It's also one of the things I am most passionate about. A lot of what we eat comes from right here on our homestead. Pure, organic food is very important to us and a lot of what I do around here revolves around food. Gardeners are constantly being challenged by nature and to succeed we need to observe, learn and incorporate new ideas into our gardening strategies. I've been inspired by so many people and enjoy sharing our own knowledge in return.
The Walkerland Homestead - Seedling, Microgreens, Eggs, Springish, Kitchen ...
I love reflecting on the week and documenting what's going on around the homestead. Things are staring to liven up again around here and there is a feeling of spring in the air. Here's a little glimpse into a week in my life :)
Lacto-Fermented Soda Using Whey Part 2 : How It Went
About a week ago I shared my love of a new book I picked up: "The Wildcrafting Brewer" by Pascal Baudar. I've read it from cover to cover and have started trying some recipes. You can read my original post here. I am giving away a copy of this book and the winner will be chosen tomorrow - there's still time to put your name in. You can learn more about that here.
Let's Stop Drowning Ourselves In Garbage & Recycling Is A Sham.
People are finding their voices and rallying for many causes. These causes are VERY important but there is one that needs to stand in front of all else: Earth. This place we inhabit is the one thing that unites all living creatures. We depend on Earth for life, vitality and health. Sadly we have fallen into a pattern where we are supporting systems built on greed. Systems that treat Earth like a dumping ground for their chemical waste. This waste is making us sick. It's polluting all the things we rely on to live: natural resources, plants, animals & water. Of all the causes, of all the things to take a stand and fight for, Earth should be the first priority - don't you think?
