Nashville at nighttime
an oasis of Southern
hospitality

Cori MacNaughton

Nashville is an interesting town. On Friday and Saturday nights, especially near downtown, it is a party town, but still the people default to being polite and friendly. Not always true of a party town.

And the area is quite beautiful, as is most of Tennessee. One of these days I'd like to spend a day or two visiting the area museums and botanical gardens.

There is a gentleman near Nashville who has amassed a collection of over 100 varieties of bamboo that thrive there.

Today was supposed to rain all day, with intermittent thunderstorms, but it turned out to be a mostly sunny and beautiful day in the mid-eighties.

On the way home, the fireflies were working their magic, and I said a quick prayer of protection for an armadillo that was nosing around on the side of the freeway.

I love armadillos and hate to see them as roadkill.

Their population has been spreading north for years, and no one understands exactly why.

Melaleuca, a company that has been making natural, eco-friendly
products since the 1980s, that not only work as well as
chemically laden versions from the supermarket,
but are safer, and typically save money overall in addition.

I was introduced to them by a co-worker in 1990, lost track
of them, and was thrilled to find them again about a year
and a half ago. I strongly recommend their products.

All words and images are my own.

I took the photo of Nashville in the evening in 2012 during a visit with Marek, most likely with my Canon SX 30 iS camera.

The photo of our dog, Lolo, and our late cat, Miod, I took as they were cooperatively begging at the dinner table, despite our longstanding rule of not feeding them from the table. You can see how much that deterred them both.
