Prague Astronomical Clock (Prague Orloj). The medieval clock, situated in the tourist crowded Old Time Square (Staroměstské náměstí) is the oldest astronomical clock that is still operating. The four figures flanking the clock are set in motion on the hour. They represent Vanity, Usury, Death and Lust.

Thank you so much for the feature Tomas! :) Today, I am coming with something from my winter memories. I took this shot of snow-covered Czech landscape in the Silesian city of Opava a few years ago. Pretty rare sight these days.

Prague is one of my favorite cities. I want to return to it more than once. In this city, you can take a record number of shots as it is amazing at every turn. Every building here is like a work of art. The buildings are decorated with numerous sculptures and paintings. Prague is a city for hiking, especially the center where there are many narrow streets. There are located the main significant places. Here, for example, the famous Charles Bridge.

Night view of a beautiful gigantic Christmas tree that was built on the Old Town Square in Prague a couple of years ago. The impressive gothic tower in the background is the Old Town Hall Tower, one of the dominants of the square.

The building is gymnasium in Uherské Hradiště. The roof can be little bit familiar to you because the inspiration is from our National Theater in Prague. The gymnasium is very popular for all young people in South Moravia but I didn’t study there.

Church of St. Peter and Paul in the village of Hosín near České Budějovice. The original Romanesque church from 1260-1280 was incorporated into a Gothic church demolished in 1898. The current building is pseudoroman built in 1900.

International and long distance telephone exchange, Žižkov, Prague. This building is not very interesting. But its story is interesting. It was built between 1972 and 1980 and was the largest building ever built in Czechoslovakia.
2500 employees worked there. They manually switched calls. In about ten years from building, the building was completely useless. Only a little bigger computer replaced all employees. The building should be demolished in 2022. Its operation is too expensive.

I visited St. Barbara's Cathedral as part of the Express Tour "Kutna Hora - Kostnitsa - Sternberg".
The cathedral has a long history of construction. It began to build more than 600 years ago, then it was stopped to build, then rebuilt. Finally completed the temple only in 1905. St. Barbara's Cathedral struck me with its refinement and refinement. He is so beautiful that he can not leave indifferent. No wonder this cathedral is considered the fourth most beautiful cathedral in Europe, yielding this place only to Prague's Saint Vitus Cathedral.

An impression with old-fashioned flair & the church of Konárovice as decorative background ~ 💖 ~ This ancient building opens its doors merely once a month any more but even from the outside is a thing of beauty every day :)
Konárovice is a little Czech village near the popular historic town Kutná Hora about an hour travel time east of Prague ~ especially at this time of year the area is very mystic and worth a visit as secrets seem to lie just around the next corner :)
