Also known as Carlsbad, Karlovy Vary is a medium-sized town found in Western Bohemia, close to the border between the Czech Republic and Germany.
Named after Charles IV, the famous King of Bohemia, who founded the city in 1370, Karlovy Vary is known for breathtaking architecture, beautiful natural surroundings but most notably, more than 300 hot springs and numerous, top-quality spa facilities.

Another thing that made Karlovy Vary popular all over the world, is the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, one of the most important events in the filmy industry. Held annually in July, this festival has been visited by many prominent personalities such as Leonardo di Caprio, Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Uma Thurman and many more.

Once you get enough of all the wonderful spa treatments and healing power of local thermal springs, you can stroll through the picturesque historic center of the town or visit renowned museums dedicated to local iconic products – the liquor Becherovka and Moser glassworks.

To enjoy a panoramic view of Karlovy Vary, make sure to hop on the cable car that will take you to the Diana Lookout Tower located on a hill just above the town.
