You know when you are young you do not realize the importance of the history.
The history has an influence on the architecture, which is easy to show you through photos. But history also influences the people, the nations.
Here, more than anywhere else, we can feel and even live the weight of the history on this great nation, which has known greats deal.
In the fifteenth century Russia is the "Third Rome", at that time the flag integrates the arms of the Byzantine emperors, the famous two-headed eagle
The Russians are real resistors, they have survived great wars, like the lucky soldiers who were ambushed in this thing. It did not go far, it looks like ... The holes you see are holes of enemy fire.
Even though St Petersburg is in Europe, Russia is well anchored in Asia with an influence of oriental culture, you can order a shisha in any bar in the city, there is everywhere.
Recently Russia was a communist country. Thanks to this, you can never starve here, you will always find one of these « stolovaya » (or cantine) open 24/24 to eat really cheap. You are entitled to a real meal for about 3€ plus toilet and wifi in bonus ;-)
Otherwise you can also try caviar or langoustines in these more classy restaurants
Because of its many facets, Russia is a country of extremes. How in the same day you can come face to face with these two bikes from elsewhere?
If you want to go back in time and in childhood for the oldest, we advise you to visit the Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines. A place for the nostalgic or for the geeks
I find that brilliant. How many times have you found yourself looking for an address and gone in the wrong direction because you do not know if the rising number is going up or down the street?
It was enough to think about it, the Russians did it. You will see that it is a detail but it is very convenient.
