In deepest, darkest Devonshire is a top secret location called Hope Barton Barns. You are required to complete a gruelling test of endurance and intelligence before being given the secret handshake that means you are invited to stay.
Ok, so that's not true...
Hope Barton Barns is a beautiful little holiday dwelling in the South of Devon.
There are a collection of self catering cottages here where you can stay, put your feet up and eat as many pasties as you like. You are a paltry 10 minutes walk from the beach and surrounded by the green, green hills of English countryside.
In fact, you practically turn into a Hobbit the second you set foot in the place haha!
So there's a bar, a pool, a kids play barn with hay bales and swinging ropes and a collection of farm animals too!

You have to drive down some of the narrowest lanes I've ever been through to get there!
Here's our little cottage... it's called the Shippon.
Cars are off limits here so you can have fully free range children!
Inside the cottage, it's lovely and quaint (perfect for Hobbits), with everything you need!
It's all open plan with a kitchen and dining area, a sitting room and a laundry area. Upstairs is the bathroom and bedrooms. One of the things that's brilliant about the cottage is there are so many windows that's it's always bright and airy inside.
You've got all the cooking utensils you need, and a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, t.v., DVD player, coffee maker... and well, pretty much everything you want for a little bit of luxury in the countryside.
The kids were certainly pleased to be here!
If, like we did, you want to go somewhere that makes it super easy for you AND the kids to have a wonderful, relaxing summer holiday in south England I highly recommend this place!
