Hi Steemit friends,

Today I would like to share my trip to Antelope Canyon with you :P Antelope Canyon is located near Page on Navajo Nation land, close to AZ 98 a few miles east of town. It takes around 4 and half hour driving from Las Vegas.

Antelope Canyon is very popular in the Southwest as it is easily accessible and also it is extremely beautiful. This incredible canyon has been created over millions of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving the sandstone into different shapes and textures.

The views in Antelope Canyon change constantly when the sun moves across the sky. These constantly moving sun penetrates through the narrow opening narrow canyon creating different shades of lights ans shadows.

There are two separate canyon section in Antelope Canyon, referred to individually as Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon. My friends and I decided to go to the Lower Antelope Canyon because it costs slightly less and usually has smaller crowds.

Lower Antelope Canyon/

Entering both upper and lower canyon required a tour guide as the canyons are not open to public.

We walked around a quarter of a mile from the parking lot to a staircase that descends into the canyon. And here's the view before we entering the lower Antelope Canyon.

You will descend down into the canyon on a series of ladders.

Once you reach the floor of the canyon your tour begins. Our Navajo guide will walk you through the canyon, offering information and help with taking photos. During the entire journey, he pointed out things that I never would have noticed with my naked eye.

And here's some photos I took during the tour~

Our Navajo guide explained that the Navajo like to find structures resembling faces and animals that are otherwise hidden in the rock formations. During the tour, he appointed out many faces to us. I couldn't remember all of them so I leave many blanks above.

The tour is USD$48 total ($40 tour and $8 Navajo land fee; the $8 must be paid in cash) and it was worth every dollar. To avoid disappointment, I would recommend make your reservations in advance as it is very popular :)

Hope you enjoy reading this post. ❤️
