Mexico City Madness: Waiting for Silkies, No Luz (Lights) and a Dready Dog

This is the last set from the photos of the first day of our journey. After we hit the bitcoin machine we honestly just sat at the Walmart we parked at until it was time to meet the breeder for the silkies. It was going to be a several hour wait and we were both a bit exhausted from the journey in.

We ended up meeting them just before sunset. We picked our birds, four white and two larger scraggly looking black ones. Our plan was just to get on the road headed south towards home to make it home in the middle of the night. We quickly found out that our headlight wasn't working which was necessary as the drive home would be dark even with a functioning light.

We'd also started to notice things like an oil leak and missing bolts during the trip to Mexico City. We'd just had a tune up done to the bike but figure they didn't check everything. We were also hard on it during our Aca Moto adventures and the combination of that with the trip wasn't faring well for the bike.

Of course since we found out after dark that our light was no longer functioning we couldn't find a mechanic open to fix it. After much deliberation we decided to get a cheap hotel. Before we got a chance to really head out towards it, John got sick from a combination of sunsickness, stress and am empty stomach, throwing up on the side of a Mexico City street.

Just before we decided to get a hotel room and John got sick, we met this dready dog with a fairly friendly owner who at least stopped to chat with us. His dog had nicer dreads than mine and he'd even taken the care to tie them up out of it's eyes somewhat.

Some of the art on the local businesses in the city were pretty amazing.

Mexico City has Uber Eats! We saw these guys all over the place!

Next I share the photos from our stay at the sexy Hotel. Stay tuned!
