Exploring Osaka - Inside the TRUCK Furniture Workshop

Hey guys and girls. After yesterday's post introducing the showroom of Osaka-based company TRUCK Furniture, I also wanted to place up some photos that I took inside their workshop and studio. They have a talented team of young woodworkers that craft exquisite furniture beneath the showroom.

A thing that struck me about this location was the connection between all the different buildings and the activities that take place inside. It’s a creative hub of sorts and is very inspiring to see as not only do the workshop, cafe and showroom reside in this area, the owner Tokuhiko Kise's family also live in the house behind. There resides a small workshop that houses leather making craftsman Atelier Shirokumasha and Tok's wife who is an illustrator, photos of which can be seen towards the bottom of this post.

Soaking up all the creativity here was really inspiring for me as a designer. Tok must be a really great boss to work for as the atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the Japanese staff even get taught English in their lunch break. I hope you enjoy these photos and will check out their furniture on the website linked below.
