Must-See Places in Bangkok, Thailand #Travelholic Episode 4

Hello Travelholics! I'm Ruel, your travelblogger from Philippines.

Today, we will explore the capital of Thailand, the city of Bangkok (also known as Krung Thep for locals). While Thailand is known for its amazing beaches, mountains, and waterfalls, Bangkok serves as the home of one of the best-looking temples, cityscapes, and shopping centers in the world. So what are we waiting for? Let's go!

Chao Phraya River

One of the best way to enjoy Bangkok's spectacular views is by riding a boat through Chao Phraya River, one of the largest river in the country headed towards the Gulf of Thailand as shown (yellow curve).

From the Suvarnabhumi Airport, we took the airport link and then switched to MRT to reach the river port. The boat costs around 30 Baht (0.9 USD). Here's what riding this boat looks like. By the way, I'd like you to meet my travel buddy for today, P'Sak.

While on the boat, here are some of the photos I've taken.

Wat Arun

This is Wat Arun, also known as "Eiffel Tower of Thailand". It's under renovation when we went there, but they said this tower looks stunning at night with its dazzling lights.

Wat Phra Kao

After that, we left the boat to have a closer look at the most popular signature temple of Thailand, Wat Phra Kao. It is the home of intricately-designed temples with fascinating architectural designs. Here's what it looks like.

China Town

At night, if you want to eat Chinese food or just wanna feel the vibes of China, then I recommend going to Chinatown.

Affordable Accommodation

Now, if you're a budget traveller (like me), you would want the most affordable yet comfortable place to sleep . In that case, I recommend Fun Cafe and Hostel at Mahaphruttaram Road, Khet Bangrak, Bangkok.

This is bunk bed style accommodation with very clean bedrooms and toilets, yet it only costs 250 baht per night (7.5 USD).

I guess that's for all for today. If you liked it, please give it an upvote and let me know your thoughts in the comments. I hope you enjoy travelling with me in Bangkok. Hope to see you in my next destination. Stay tuned for more travelholic episodes.
