Hotel Maid Secrets 19/1/2018

Travel brings us many things it introduces you to new cultures, foods, arts, entertainment, and probably alot more but one thing that most of us probably think about and is a big deal breaker to many is of course the place were you will stay for the night while you visit the city or the area of interest.

This post was actually suppose to have been published before everybody started setting out to Steemfest 2 but I never found the time to put it out there and found my notes to it a few days ago so I thought why not.

So when you learn about some of the dirty little secrets that a number of hotel maids have exposed you might think twice before you lay your head on that next pillow.

And speaking of pillows did you know that sometimes the person cleaning your room is also resting on the same bed you’re sleeping in?
Yup it happens they’re not allowed to do it of course but when they clean and have perhaps a little extra time they could sometimes do a little resting on the bed as maids are on a time constraint to clean every room.
There are still many hotel maids who are paid per room they clean and not on an hourly basis.

It goes without saying that when you check into your hotel you'd expect nobody to be riffling through your stuff... well many hotel maids have admitted that they have sometimes tried on a guest’s clothing, and no you wont fit it all in one of those mini safe's that the hotel's sometimes provide..

Small Portions

Now and again when you call for room service the maids who will deliver that service to you room will sample some of the things off of your plate, especially if that food is of easy pickings.

The Duvets, coverlets, and sheets arent always washed some anonymous maids have reported that if they have a duvet with a small stain on it which could be easily blotted out simply by patting it down with water until it became barely visible they will take that option.

Did you know some hotel staff will look you up via social media, like Facebook and Instagram.

Why?

Creepy eh?

Well the main reason is if they are totally honest is curiosity but also so they can ensure that you’ll enjoy your stay, basically they want to tailor your room to things you’ll like, which is not something I would like.

So Clean!?

How do most hotel mirrors always look so sparkling clean huh?
Well it turns out that the maids have a secret... they use furniture polish.

I know what your probably thinking right now...your thinking about trying this yourself but I warn you now that while furniture polish works very well it can cause tons of buildup and will become difficult to scrub of eventually and shouldn't be tried at home.

Did you know some hotels really want you to take their stuff like towels, soaps, and shampoos or many simply dont care if you do.

Maids probably have way less interactions at work then what most people might assume they do, maids mostly work solo, their interaction with other guests and coworkers are said to be quite slim, its said they spend only around 20 minutes of the work day interacting with other people.
