Hello, Steemians! Today I continue with my report about my Cambodia trip from last month. Siem Reap, the country's second-largest city, is the tourist hotspot number one in Cambodia for one reason only - its proximity to the ancient temple city of Angkor. The temples attract millions of visitors each year and of course all of them need to sleep somewhere. Therefore Siem Reap is designed for tourism and the city center around Pub Street is by far the most developed part of the whole country. There you can enjoy delicious food, shopping and of course parties! Pub Street becomes a party mile at night, where thousands of visitors go for dancing and having fun until the early morning. But also culture fans won’t be disappointed. If you can't get enough of temples in spite of your Angkor tour, you should visit the beautiful Wat Preah Prom Rath, which you can see on the cover photo.
Hallo Steemianer! Heute geht es weiter mit meiner Berichterstattung über meinen Kambodscha Trip vom letzten Monat. Siem Reap, die zweitgrößte Stadt des Landes ist die Touristenhochburg schlechthin in Kambodscha und das aus nur einem einzigen Grund – ihrer Nähe zur antiken Tempelstadt Angkor. Die Tempelanlagen ziehen jedes Jahr Millionen Besucher an, die natürlich irgendwo übernachten möchten. Siem Reap ist deshalb ganz auf den Tourismus ausgelegt und das Stadtzentrum, rund um die Pub Street ist mit Abstand der am besten entwickelte Teil des gesamten Landes. Hier kann man wunderbar Essen, Shoppen und natürlich Feiern! Die Pub Street wird nachts zur Partymeile, in der täglich tausende Besucher bis in die frühen Morgenstunden, tanzen und Spass haben. Aber auch Kulturfans kommen auf ihre Kosten. Wer trotz seiner Angkor Tour, von Tempeln nicht genug kriegen kann, sollte den wunderschönen Wat Preah Prom Rath besuchen, den ihr auch auf dem Titelfoto sehen könnt.

Siem Reap has the best value for money in terms of accommodation I've ever experienced. The choice is huge, so you can book even at short notice. I chose this beautiful, very clean double room, with private bathroom, free WiFi and breakfast, just a three-minute walk from Pubstreet for only 18$ per night. (For those who don´t know it yet: In Cambodia you pay with US dollars)
Siem Reap hat das beste Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis was Unterkünfte angeht, das ich je erlebt habe. Die Auswahl ist riesig, man kann also problemlos kurzfristig buchen. Dieses wunderschöne, sehr saubere Zweibettzimmer mit eigenem Bad, kostenlosem W-LAN und Frühstück, nur drei Gehminuten von der Pubstreet entfernt, kostete mich gerade mal 18$ pro Nacht. (Für diejenigen, die es noch nicht wissen: In Kambodscha bezahlt man mit US-Dollar)

You have a huge choice and you will find everything from western dishes to regional cuisine, whatever your heart desires. Brave ones can even try grilled spiders, maggots or scorpions. I decided to try a snake, but it was so hard that I was worried about my teeth and so I gave up after a few bites.
Man hat eine riesige Auswahl und findet von westlichen Gerichten, bis zu regionaler Küche, alles was das Herz begehrt. Mutige können sogar gegrillte Spinnen, Maden oder Skorpione probieren. Ich entschied mich für eine Schlage, die war aber so hart, dass ich mir um meine Zähne Sorgen machte und nach ein paar Bissen aufgab.
There is no shortage of shopping facilities in Siem Reap. Both during the day and at night you can spend hours strolling through the various markets.
An Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mangelt es in Siem Reap nicht. Sowohl am Tag, als auch nachts kann man Stunden damit verbringen, durch die verschiedenen Märkte zu spazieren.
At night, Pubstreet turns into a vibrant party zone. The drinks prices are unbeatably cheap - beer from 0,50$, cocktails from 1,50$!
Nachts verwandelt sich die Pubstreet in eine einzige Partyzone. Die Getränkepreise sind unschlagbar günstig – Bier ab 0,50$, Cocktails ab 1,50$!
I hope that I could give you a short impression of what you can expect from Siem Reap. The real highlight, the temples of Angkor deserve their own article of course, which will follow within the next couple of days!
