Hi again!
So in case you haven't read part 1 yet - earlier this year my girlfriend and I went on a road trip around the Scottish Highlands. Find part one here. We took many pictures, and I want to share them with you - perhaps you've never been. There's a lot of pictures so lets get right to it, I don't want to bore you.
So the trip continued.....
We accidently took a wrong turning at one point, but to be honest, we are so glad we did. We got to see some beautiful views over a loch. Especially as there was a rainbow!
When we finally got back on track, we noticed a waterfall at the side of the road, which ran underneath.
There were so many lovely views at every turn of the road.
We then came across a small pebble beach on a loch where we stopped for a while.
Another beautiful view
We then came across some castle ruins. After a little research we found out it was Ardvreck Castle, from the 16th century. Lovely views and if you want to you can go and explore with just a short walk from the road.
Some more sights along the way.
The next point we stopped at was Dileab nan Lochlannach lookout. A beautiful scenic point with stunning views of multiple lochs and hills.
Beautiful hills along the road
There are many castles in Scotland, some ruins, some maintained. We came across one which was very well maintained, unfortunately we didn't explore it as our budget was pretty tight.
Another lovely small beach - bit too cold to swim though ;-)
Another stunning loch
Lastly, my girlfriend had been on the lookout for a Highland cow, or as she calls them, the hairy cows! She finally found one
Well, that's all for part 2. Our day ended with a night in Thurso before continuing our trip and visiting John O'Groats, and then travelling back down again. We also made a couple of stop offs before going home, we went to the Glenfinnan Viaduct bridge and also Loch Ness.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures, as previously said, I'm not a professional photographer. Stay tuned for part three.
Thanks for reading :-)
