Travel Pro Hotels #9: Hotel David Alejandro Quito Ecuador!

Hey there my Steemit friends! I'm publishing these post from the Gagapagos Islands. But from the middle of December throught all of January I got bogged down with responsibilities in Ecuador. Everything from dealing with investments I have in this country to backlogging some blog posts so I can travel and keep posting. So I was living out of two hotels for the past six weeks. I spent about ten days in this hotel here in Quito in December.

Hotel David Alejandro is my go to hotel when I'm in Quito for the past several years, but I think I may be looking for an up-grade next time I'm in this city. The good thing about this place is that they'll negotiate down to ten USD per night. Which is really good for anything decent here. You just have to negotiate for at least three nights and the owner who is seemingly always there will give you a deal. For a couple, you could probably negotiate down to $12 or $14 per night.

So besides this place being a good deal. I find it to be in a great location. You can see it's exact location on the Steemit World Map. But it's basically right in the middle of the city on the western side of Park Ejido. You're walking distance to the popular Plaza Foche touristy night club and restaurant area, popular Avenue Rio Amazonas full of shopping and restaurants, and also walking distance to the UNESCO Heritage site of the historic area including the Basilica Gothic Cathedral.

So it's a good deal, it's in a good location, and it's safe. They lock the place up at night but you can always buzz the door to get in. There is 24 hour reception and the place has cameras and is very secure. You get a simple room, decent wifi, flat screen TV, private bathroom with a lousy hot shower; I will not lie.

Sometimes the rooms have been dusty and given me allergies. But they are generally clean. The walls are thin and I've heard people having sex from across the hall and several doors down. So this place is certainly not perfect; but if you're on a budget it's about half of the price I've found for the next step up in quality.

So David Alejandro has the right price, location, wifi, and security making it a Travel Pro Hotel but I'm not going to all out recommend it. This is due to the crappy shower in already cold Quito, dusty rooms on occasion, and embarrassingly thin walls. I'm going to do some more "Travel Pro Hotel Searching" next time I visit Quito and hopefully I come up with something better to share with all my Steemit friends!

One more thing I should note; I'm going to start tagging my hotel series posts under #travelprohotels. This way you can use my work as a travel reference much easier. Thank you so much my steemit friends for all your interest and support! Until next time -Dan "World Travel Pro!"
