Travel Pro Hotels #8: Hotel Rio Guayas, Guayaquil Ecuador! An Ideal Travel Pro Hotel! (9 photos)

Hotel Rio Guayas

Hey there my Steemit friends. Hotel Rio Guayas; I'm 100% "Travel Pro" certain this is the place you want to stay when you visit the city of Guayaquil Ecuador. I had absolutely nothing to complain about there. This is really one of the best hotels and values I've ever found in all of Latin America. In fact I got so comfortable I had a hard time leaving.

I basically lived there for the entire month of January working on my "Travel Pro Blog" while Steemit and my blog were both blowing up at the same time! I took advantage of the home like comforts and great wifi to get a ton of work done online as well as study crypto currencies.

I negotiated my room for ten days for a special price of 12$ a night. The price is about $15 dollars per night if you're not staying this long; still a good deal. Hotel Rio Guayas is in a great location near the center of the city with some nice parks, shopping, and restaurants near by. It's one block from the river, and about a three minute walk from "Melecon 2000" which is a several kilometer long, renovated, beautiful boardwalk along Rio Guayas. It's also near some nice supermarkets and open air markets as well.

What Did I Get for Twelve Dollars a Night?

For starters I got a clean modern room with daily cleaning service. Elena is the cleaning lady. She works hard and is very friendly. I made sure to give her a nice tip before I left. I also enjoyed conversing with her each day keeping up with my Spanish.

Besides a great cleaning lady I got a very generously sized flat screen TV, a comfortable bed, a decent size room, private bathroom with excellent hot water. I also had a very good new Air Conditioner. I had great wifi and cable TV. But the kicker was I had a very nice refrigerator and freezer. With my one burner electric stove and pot I've been traveling with; I had myself a small little kitchen.

Since I'm not impressed with the restaurants and food in much of Latin American let alone this city, Guayaquil. I was in "Travel Pro Heaven" making my own meals, and storing my own food in the fridge. I was eating so well and was so comfortable I had trouble pulling myself away from this place. One of my favorite things that I was making in my room were these thick high quality rib-eye steaks! For $3.50 a pound, I was eating like a king!

Guayaquil Ecuador is the main jump off city for trips to the Galapagos. Many travelers stay here for a night or two before they head to this famous set of islands. It's about a four dollar taxi ride to and from the airport which is very convenient and inexpensive. There are always taxis in front of the hotel as the location is situated on a fairly main road of Eloy Alfero near the intersection of Rendon.

I had room 22, and I recommend you ask for this room. The manager said it's the best room in the building as it's situated in the back of the hotel on the second floor where you are away from the main road so it's nice and quiet. It's a little more spacious than the other rooms too.

Hard to believe but I'm still not done praising this place. The manager is friendly and speaks English. You can call in advance by looking up this place online and make reservations easily. They even offer you the option to pay late! I always paid early, but that's how friendly they are.

Besides all this, they have a small kitchen you have access to. I just used it to wash my dishes as I preferred to cook in my room. The kitchen is not kept up very well and a little grimy so be ware.

They also have a washing machine on the open-air rooftop which they offer use of, which is fantastic as I did not see any small business offering laundry service in this part of town. So, I was able to do my own laundry here and they have cloths-lines set up to dry your clothes on as well.

The roof top also sports some outdoor patio furniture. It's very comfortable and a great place to just hang out, get some fresh air, while enjoying a view of the river. So for twelve dollars a night I was made in the shade in Guayaquil Ecuador at Hotel Rio Guayas! I totally recommend anyone visiting this city to stay here! Until next time- Dan "World Travel Pro!"
