ULOG #30: When Life Gives You Avocados, Make Avocado Graham Cake

spring.jpg

#beautifulsunday is an initiative of @ace108 and this is how this Sunday went.

The sun pleasured us with its glorious warmth early today but then succumb to this dominatrix monsoon season. What better way to beat the rain and boredom? Do something that will make the rain jealous.

I would rather stay home rather than go out and stay in malls or cafes.

As some of you may know, we have three avocado trees in our yard and they are popping out fruits like a teenager's face filled with acne. (Gross comparison? Bear with me. I am trying to humor you so as not to show my frustration about this gloom lol!)

We have shared the fruits to friends, fellow church members, neighbors, relatives. Yet, we still have plenty. So, why not make something out of it then? We have done ice cream avocado but because it is raining which makes the temperature cool, we did not do that.

We do not have ingredients available to make a salad or guacamole. We have had enough avocado smoothies. We instead made an avocado graham cake that is tiramisu inspired. This is our first time of making this.

this december 22, 2018, be there.jpg

  • Graham crackers or ladyfingers
  • Condensed milk
  • Fresh milk
  • Loaf of bread of your choice
  • Cream
  • Mashed avocados

You can add more depends on your preference.

We have already started making this before I decided to post it so as you can see in the picture, the avocados are already mashed and the cream is missing because it was already placed in the mixer.

The measurement of this depends upon your preference. We chose a condensed milk that is not too sweet. The avocados are already sweet anyway.

WHAT TO DO.jpg

I cannot document this process much because I have used the Canon that is not functioning well. However, this is very easy to do it anyway.

The number of layers depends upon your preference. After layering, refrigerate to let everything settle in.

We used two kinds of graham crackers and for this photos below, we used chocolate graham crackers.

For the photos below, I utilized my niece's smartphone.

I tried some plating thingy and placed mint on top of the cake.

I tried to be generous with the blueberry syrup but I don't know how to do it properly lol! It turned out to be messy.

I also crushed a piece of graham crackers and spread it to the plates.

We made two containers of cakes with this. This is a good partner with black coffee. I love how the avocado taste is not lost.
