Bindu Khanal as @bindu is sharing with us from the beautiful country of Kathmandu, Nepal! Since signing up for Steem in June 2017, she has authored 117 posts starting with her introduceyourself post where the photo included above is from!
What I love about @bindu is her honest sharing of life where she is and as she sees it because this demonstrates what I believe is the full power of our community here on Steem to enable transparent sharing of our lives globally. @bindu goes into the challenging issues, demonstrates her artwork, and shares what she sees around her!
Here are a few of my favorite posts which I discovered thanks to the recommendation of @kelvanis in upvotable 36 and the upvote from @reggaemuffin and @qura!
- Taking a hard look at the near impossibility of dressing just right as a woman from showing too much skin to too little and the associated judgments may help us see we are all victims of the same separation. The separate view of men and women often has the story that men are such animals that a woman putting too much skin in front of a man might cause a man to rape. With this view comes the assumption that women have a responsibility to consider how much to show at @bindu/you-raped-her-because-her-clothes-provoked-you-i-should-break-your-face-cause-your-stupidity-provokes-me. If we are all free to show our bodies and trust each other to respect our boundaries, then we all are truly free!
- While many of us might prefer to close our eyes to the world around us, I believe the power of Steem is to enable each of us to share our truth and to consider what this means in our view of the world. This post was difficult to see from my view living in St Petersburg, Florida where I have never seen anything like this in my life. Only read this post if you are okay with seeing an animal head cut off and flying in mid air at @bindu/stop-animal-slaughter-and-animal-rights-violation-make-it-a-cruelty-free-during-festival
- I love seeing artwork because each of us has an inner creative genius that demands to come out at @bindu/my-secret-passion-drawing-and-painting
- This child Goddess custom is wild at @bindu/the-very-strange-life-of-nepal-s-child-kumari-the-living-goddess
- Seeing this holiday trip was lovely @bindu/my-holiday-trip-to-the-beautiful-city-pokhara
- I hope we can help use Steem to look more at how we are treating each other to motivate more love and compassion globally especially after seeing @bindu/one-of-the-disgusting-custom-in-nepal-where-young-girls-are-offered-to-temples
- A lovely sunset at @bindu/stunning-sunset-view-in-kathmandu
- @bindu's dog died recently which she shares at @bindu/my-dog-died-yesterday-and-i-miss-him-terribly
- Fun to see how similar what we eat is as far away from me as Nepal at @bindu/i-am-a-foodie-so-what
- Her most upvoted post came from inclusion in @curie at @bindu/dogs-remedy-for-depression
- Celebrating Teej at @bindu/teej-festival-women-s-archives-my-experience-celebrating-teej-festival-with-faith-and-fun
