Akeneo is specialized in open source product information management, also known as PIM. Akeneo develops the software Akeneo PIM. Available under the open source license 3.0 Source

According to their website:

Akeneo PIM source code is released under open source license. Based on the Symfony2 framework, our product is highly customizable and extensible. We believe that open source & community driven software makes richer, more powerful and flexible applications. Source

Our team has been working in the e-commerce industry for over 10 years. As we were helping brands to grow their online businesses, we realized that they were all struggling with complex or archaic systems to manage product information.

We founded Akeneo in 2013 with the idea that products are the most important assets in a company and that many merchants lack a tool to help them manage and leverage this crucial asset. Merchants needed a tool that was designed for marketers and flexible enough to be integrated with any third-party application. Source

What is a PIM

A Product Information Management (PIM) system centralizes and harmonizes all your marketing and technical information for product listings and catalogs. Source

The translation had some easy phrases, and other ones with codes and key words. In this case the code showed must not be changed, only the words describing the function of the code, or objects affected by the code.

I find this way of supporting open sources projects to be very interesting and looking forward to make more contributions using utopian-io network.

Thanks for reading!
