Bot-Tracker / Steemit Idea: Integrate Steem Bot-Tracker Into A Browser Extension For Ease Of Use

The information provided by Bot Tracker is very useful for users of Steemit, but could be improved through integration of the functionality into a browser extension for Firefox/Chrome/Chromium.

The Steemit - More Info Extension already attempts to add 'boost' features to posts that connect only to Minnow Booster, however, by extending this functionality to include all the bots listed on the bot tracker page, the market and functionality will be greatly enhanced.

Alternatively, an entirely new browser extension could be created just to bring the bot tracker data into the Steemit web page experience directly.

Benefits would include:

  • Allowance of bot comparison directly from the posting page.
  • Allowance of sending a bid directly from the posting page to the chosen bot(s).
  • Provision of predicted payout levels for each bot according to the amount chosen to pay by the user.
  • Increased exposure for bot operators - leading to a more healthy marketplace for bot votes.
  • Triggering of notification alerts without needing to have the bot tracker page open in a browser tab.

The interface need be no more complicated than the inclusion of a 'Boost' button on posts - as the 'Steemit More Info' plugin already does. An extended interface can appear in a popup that displays the info that currently appears on the Bot Tracker page, but in a format that allows users to both see the useful bot tracking data and also to make bids.

The elements involved mean that the UI design will be somewhat self explanatory.
