Cocktail Hour // How to Make a Festive Moscow Mule - VIDEO Tutorial

Hey Steemians! I love to craft fun cocktails and so I decided to make a video tutorial of how to do a holiday twist on the moscow mule. This could be a fun drink that you make for yourself this holiday season, or could be something you scale to make for a group if you are hosting over the holiday's.

About the Moscow Mule

Rumor has it that the mule was invented by the owner of the Cock n' Bull bar in Hollywood in 1941 and as a collaboration with Smirnoff. Their goal was to introduce vodka to Americans and for cock n' bull to promote their home brewed ginger beer.

If you haven't had a chance to try the cock n' bull brand - I would highly recommend it. It has a great mix of both spicy and sweet flavors to form a well-rounded ginger flavor.

I should also note here that it is very important to use real ginger beer and not ginger ale on this cocktail. The strong ginger notes is what gives this cocktail depth and character.

Reciple - Festive Moscow Mule

2 oz Vodka (Use ginger infused vodka if available)
1 TBS fresh lime juice - or to taste. I used half of a lime in this video
1/2 cup Ginger Beer
1 oz Cranberry Juice
1 TBS Ginger Simple Syrup (optional)

First mix the ginger vodka with fresh lime juice in the copper cup. Next, add quite a bit of ice and top the drink with the ginger beer and cranberry juice. You could also add the simple syrup to taste if you like. Stir it up, add some fun garnishes, and you're set! My garnishes included a lime wedge, sprig of rosemary and some fresh cranberries.

This is such an easy and fun cocktail to prepare. There are a lot of variations you could try, but I think cranberries are a perfect fit for the winter months. It gives the cocktail a rich color and deep flavor. The sprig of rosemary doesn't permeate the flavor, but it gives the beverage an aromatic twist as you raise the glass to your lips.

I hope you enjoyed watching my video tutorial! Hopefully you feel inspired to try mixing up a fun cocktail this week. This would be a great option to impress your guests with this holiday season.

Cheers!
