Life~

Hi Everyone!!

This is my favorite thing to do on Steemit! This is the Weekend Freewrite- Jan 13, 2018 - Part 1 - The First Sentence This was a fun one!!!

Life

Part one:

The only way John could pass the exam was by cheating so he stood up and walked right out of the fucking classroom, down that long ass hallway running his hand along the lockers for the last time. He pushed out the side door of the school and finally took a deep breath of clean fresh air for the first time in months...

He just could not do it anymore. His brain was not meant to sit and remember dates. Give him a car. He could tear that sucker apart and put it back together in no time flat. When finished, it would run faster and smoother than it did off the showroom floor.

Sitting in a classroom, trying to not fall asleep, listening to a teacher drone on and on. No more. He had finally turned eighteen and was free! He had tried, for his mom's sake, to finish school. She wanted to see him walk down that damn aisle and get his diploma. She would have been so proud. He just couldn't do it anymore. Couldn't.

With mom married to a nice man, she didn't need him to stick around. It was finally his turn to do the things he wanted.

He would find some other way to live. In some other place. This town was not going to be home anymore.

John could feel himself lightening up, standing taller, breathing deeper the more he walked. He just had to get home, write a note and pack a few things.

Part two:

John's Mom sat across from him at the dinner and said: "There you go, making up lies again." That is what they told me."

John took another deep breath and slowly let it out and thought of all the good things that had come into his life since the day he had walked out of school.

How he had found a job, the next day, a few towns over. How he was running the Gas Station for Mr. Bilman who's son's wanted nothing to do with the business but what money they could drain from it.

Now, after all this time, his Mom shows up talking about 10 years ago and tells him she had heard he had left because he had gotten Janie pregnant. What the Hell! He had one date with her. Not even a real date. They had met at the movies. He had paid for everything. She got picked up after the movie by some college kid. End Of.

Of course, his mother didn't believe him. God forbid she would do that even after all these years. Now here he sat trying to explain over and over to his Mother that Janie's child was not his. Could not be his and will not be no matter what anyone says.

Part Three:

John sat in this office looking out over the shop area and took stock of everything he was seeing in front of him. Twenty years later and a lot of sweat, blood, and sleepless nights he had finally made it. The best part being, he was finally comfortable in his own skin.

As he looked back over the years thinking about Janie, her trying to pin a child on him, his Mother never believing that he had not fathered a child, all the court dates, and finally, the test that had proved he was not the father. His Mother never forgave him for that. Never forgave him for not being the father of that sweet child.

So he had lived the last 15 years without talking to his Mom. He had tried but she was not having any of it and in the end, she treated Janie's child just like her Granddaughter. Paid for everything. In the end, Janie and Mom got what they both wanted.

John just shook his head, looked at his wife's ass, one that could still make him want her badly in an instant, while she did what she needed to fix the breaks on the Honda so they could go off skying for the weekend.
