Cervantes is the appropriately named ambassador for the Spanish-speaking Steemit community, with an equally appropriately themed avatar and background for his blogpage. One of the snazzier ones I've seen, actually.
Cervantes runs the “Cervantes project”, a curation guild affiliated with the Steem-Guild project which focuses on encouraging the posting of quality content by Spanish speakers, particularly when posted in the Spanish language. This curation project used to curate the “hispanohablantes” tab, which now appears to be untended, but the project continues via Cervantes’ blog with a posting of daily curation lists.
Cervantes also runs a magazine (linked below), and a series of posts that help encourage Steemit meetups. Initially, these took place in Venezuela, but have spread to numerous other countries. His post rewards funnel back to meetup organizers to fund food, drinks, venue rentals, transportation, and any other costs associated with meetup organization.
Cervantes also assists with the operation of the Hispanic-community Discord channel, with over 1300 users. This community also runs an anti-abuse and plagiarism account, @lince. @lince is probably best described as a Hispanic @cheetah, and operates in much the same fashion.
Recently, the community ran a contest with over $4000 SBD in total prizes which included bringing Venezuelan winner @oscarcc89 to Steemfest II in Lisbon.
Cervantes holds 21,000 SP and is powering down.
