#38 - @Witness.svk

@Witness.svk is the witness account of @svk, or Sigve Kvalsik, who is also known as svk on the Bitshares forum and svk31 on Github. Based in Norway, he is a very active developer, with over 2,000 Github contributions in the last year alone.

One of Svk’s older projects that caught my eye was when he attended a Trezor Hackathon with fellow Steemian @xeroc, and the two of them were successful in signing the first-ever transaction for Steem with a Trezor hardware wallet! Now, if only they could find a way to store my Steem on a hardware wallet while it is powered up...

Based on Svk’s blog and Github, he appears to work primarily on Bitshares, where his most recent update has brought some Steemit interface features over to the Bitshares environment. His other recent releases include various types of javascript libraries for Steemit development.

Prior to the implementation of auto-refreshing on the internal market, @svk developed and launched an api to run an external live market page. This project was later discontinued when it’s functionality was rolled into the native interface, showing that it was indeed a functionality that “the market” required.

Svk also developed and released one of the earlier GUI template options for a proposed Bitshares wallet solution.

Simple wallet, as he called it, was a fair description.

Svk holds 19,000 SP and is not powering down.

Svk has the highest ranked inactive witness with the oldest “last block.”
