Article - On benchmarking the organization and the individual against the best: The revealing story of being best!

You should be the best in the schools, the best in research, and the best in organizations. All life is a competition, but it is not for everybody! Only the best in literature and in message creating and message assessing could do something!

Many organizations and many people tell the markets that they are best! But is it true? And how do we compare ourselves against anything? The best is benchmarking, and that means that one should be on the top of the ranking lists.

We should not respect Harvard unless they have the best lectures, the best thinking, the best books, the best journals, and the best education programs in the world. The decision is Boston today, and the schools and Silicon Valley are widely admired and recognized in several environments. But the ways to think in philosophy with cognition, empirical facts, and being skeptical and natural, should be used in the education and research programs. A treatise of human nature, is always among us. We should think and feel as the human nature is!

Many business schools and universities are not the best in the world although the employees tell the story untrue. You should never respect any people in these schools if they are not ranked as best from China and from India. And the prime ministers could just give a message, and this message should be warm, social and good!

Benchmarking can be used in many ways. The idea is to compare yourself against the best. Quality is wisdom and wealth. Quality is sometimes free, and sometimes quality should be paid for. We should compare ourselves against other on the following:

1. Which talents do you have?
2. Which education do you have? What are the weaknesses in study programs and in thinking?
3. Which human resources, systems and routines do the organization have?
4. What characterizes the organization? What can it master? Why? How?
5. Which qualities can the person and the organization give you?
6. What should we listen to, and what should we ignore?

Benchmarking is a way to compare ourselves against the best. No institution in Scandinavia is best in the world. But we can do things more properly! And leaders use testosterone in communication, and all leaders have not completed all the education programs! That is a bad development!
