My experiment continues.
I am working on a new book, while also writing this story.
This is probably going to be a chapter book for elementary students, think Goosebumps.
I am writing this story without an outline and putting up the story as I finish each part. I am enjoying getting to know these characters and setting. I am also doing this to prove to myself that a story can be written quickly and without an outline.

Part 17 The microphone moved
Mr. Williams led the boys into the lighthouse. They stood at the top of the stairs. “Be careful of the video camera,” he whispered, as pointed to it to remind them where they had put it. Mr. Williams leaned over the railing of the stairs, “Mr. Jackson, is that you?”
BAM! Irving and Alec screamed. The sound came from the bottom of the stairs.
Mr. Williams leaned once more over the railing, “Mr. Jackson, is that you, we mean you no harm.”
BAM! The sound came again.
Irving and Alec screamed again. Mr. Williams turned around and shushed them.
Mr. Williams took several more steps down the stairs. Irving and Alec followed behind him, shaking.
Bam! Irving and Alec screamed again. Irving nearly dropped the camera over the railing. Mr. Williams turned around and glared at the boys. “Boys, I am right here. The lights are still on. Stop screaming in my ear. And please hold onto the camera. With all of your screaming we may not be able to hear on the recording. You two maybe the only thing we get out of this. Now stop it!” Mr. Williams pointed his finger at them and held his stare. Irving and Alec stood stiff as boards. They nodded their heads quickly. But they didn’t say anything.
Mr. Williams turned around and started walking down the stairs. “Lawrence is that you! We don’t mean any harm.”
BAM! BAM!
Irving couldn’t hold the camera still anymore. “Grandpa…take the camera…”
Mr. Williams turned around and grabbed the camera from Irving, “Give me that before you drop it and it shatters on the floor.” Mr. Williams kept walking slowly down the stairs. The boys following behind him terrified.
They were halfway down the lighthouse, they had another one hundred feet to go.
“Mr. Lawrence, is that you?” Mr. Williams asked one more time.
This time there was no sound. They kept walking.
Fifty feet to go.
Irving and Alec shook as they followed Mr. Williams. They reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Hey! The mic moved!” Irving pointed to the mic. “It was pointed up the stairs, now it’s pointed to the door.”
“You’re right,” said Mr. Williams.
BAM! The sound echoed throughout the lighthouse. “Ahhhh!” screamed Irving.
Mr. Williams stayed still. He ran to the front door of the lighthouse and flung open the door. He looked around the edge of the door. He took a few steps out into the open. He looked around and he came back in.
“Did you see something?” Irving asked.
Mr. Williams pointed to the microphone, “Let’s get that home and listen to what it recorded.”
